great location. second visit. clean, spacious rooms with good bedding. the airconditioner has been a problem both times. the fan does not stay on and cycles VERY loudly. also i think most of the rooms have been smoked in (lots of european clientelle) so the air freshner is VERY heavy. very good staff except for the restaurant (which is basically a bar). nice small lobby. we were able to open the windows and it was not too loud through the night.
What's not to like about a top-tier hotel in NYC? The room was great -- huge king, comfy bed -- very nice business desk with all amenities, all lighting can be controlled at bedside nightstand. Just comfortable and luxurious all around. The staff and concierge were all helpful, cheerful, and professional... got us dinner reservations which turned out to be exactly the kind of food/place we asked for... very knowledgeable concierge.
We were out and about mostly, but the hotel was a great home base and central to the good stuff. NY is a walking city, so bring your walking shoes. We walked from the hotel to The Metropolitan Museum, which is quite a ways, but the walk is so interesting along the way. The hotel is beautiful (in that 20's 30s sort of way) and was comfortable. Breakfast was expensive, but worth it.
Great location, closed to everything. The stuff was amazing, I felt very welcomed in the minute I got there. The room was clean and quet , goid housekeeping, fast room service and nice restaurant with great food.
I will defiantly stay here again.
