Beautiful castle, great staff. The only thing that could have improved our stay would have been better strolling trails around the grounds. Got a bit muddy out walking with my wife. Would have liked stones, or some other firmer trail base.

Nice accommodations-we stayed in a hunting themed room. Wonderful country view. Loved the dining experience, starting with the library pre-order and drinks and the meal in the Dungeon Restaurant. We were on the 3rd floor-no elevators, but the staff delivered our bags to the room. The grounds of the castle were ideal for a casual walk. They offered falconry as one of their activities. A breakfast, served in the Orangery sunroom was included with the package-very pleasant!
"Very nice hotel with easy transport links to city"
Stayed here for 4 nights with the aim to go into Edinburgh daily to visit the Fringe festival. Staff were fantastic, very helpful and welcoming. We did not eat in the restaurant in the evening, but the food at breakfast was lovely and the rooms were comfortable, clean and well equipped with everything we needed during our stay. Fantastic value for money
We had a family gathering as grandparents had lived in Glenside Cottages in the glen late 19th/early 20th century and are buried in the chapel church yard. Most of us stayed at Rosslyn Castle, and three of us stayed at The Chapel Cross GH.
We enjoyed our stay of 5 nights. We were very comfortable and were able to relax. Our host was very friendly and made us very welcome. Our room was really clean as was the shower-room.The breakfast was substantial and relaxed.Overall we had a good time and would definitely stay there again.
With Edinburgh to the north and the Scottish Borders to the south, Midlothian is quiet and rural, punctuated by former mining communities. Dalkeith is the main town with good shopping and a Country Park. Nearby Newton Grange is home to the fascinating Scottish Mining Museum. The region’s star attraction is Rosslyn Chapel, famed for its extraordinary architecture and mystical associations. Sporty visitors enjoy the Midlothian Ski Centre.
