We were in town to visit friends, and the hotel room price was reasonable for the quality of the property. The food was excellent - especially the daily breakfast buffet. The variety and quality of food items were amazing at a reasonable price. The entire staff were very attentive - the reception desk at check in and check out, the restaurant servers, and housekeeping all were excellent.

This hotel is located at a very convenient location, there's a plaza (mall)withing walking distance, safe taxi nearby 24/7, there's always someone at reception that speaks English. The restaurant inside Crown Plaza gives you countless options for great eating and room service is the best. Casa de toño (restaurant) is also another choice should you want to just walk 5 minutes. There's a lounge with bar with a very relaxing atmosphere. At this time they do not have a pool. That would have been a great amenity to include. Overall great service. The tipping habit has almost disappeared. I tipped the few staff members that helped me and I noticed they were so grateful for it.

The shower was spacious with good water pressure and a nice showerhead. The room was spacious, clean, and modern. There is a large shopping mall less than a block away with banks, restaurants, stores, and a theater. One thing I didn't like was that when I arrived it was very late at night (after a delayed flight and lengthy check-out with America Rental Car) and the hotel appeared closed. All of the lights were out and there was no sign on the door to tell late arriving guests how to contact staff for check-in. It turns out they were there but I didn't figure that out until literally trying to force the door open hoping to set off an alarm and attract either security or police. I attracted the former who let me in and I was able to check in without any problem. A simple sign would have been helpful though.

The hotel is really old and looks dated. I supposed that 30 years ago it was a great big hotel but now it just looks just like a cheap old motel. The staff is great.

Nice clean hotel. The TV volume was a little loud even at lowest level. Ice machines were not working. Other than that, would recommend.

Not very pleasant visit.
The service in the restaurant was very good, food was bland. If you want a drink from the bar, you'll have to wait until someone shows up. I stayed 4 nights, the last 2 nights they left the door wide open from the restaurant and filled the whole hotel and my room with a greasy cooking smell. I was on the 6th floor. The maid cleaned my room but failed to clean the floors or sink, and left my pillows unchanged and in the window sill. For the price and amenities offered, I would find something else. I have stayed in some very nice places for less money. Holiday inn is just 10 minutes away.

Waited over 1hour for room service when they...
...said it would take 20 minutes or less. Bartender was not available so management sent a regular waiter to make drinks when he had no idea how to make them. We received a slushy instead of an Apple Martini. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and went far and beyond the call of duty when asked for a glass of milk for my 2 year old daughter. No one was answering at the kitchen/restaurant when he attempted twice to call them directly.

Although under renovation, the hotel room (suite) was old and indeed needed modernization. Breakfast until 12pm but very simple and only juices were worthy - Needs attention from hotel staff!!!

Not the best choice for a Tlalneplantla Hotel...
I stayed here for 9 nights. Not what you'd expect from a well known chain like the Crown Plaza. Although the hotel was undergoing much needed renovations while I was there, it was still not a nice place to stay. The shower was very underpowered, not what you need after a long hot day at work. There was brown stains on the chair in my room. The menu and the service in the restaurant was poor. I moved to another hotel just down the road for the remainder of my stay in Mexico, this hotel was 10 times better and approximately the same price.
