This was a beautiful hotel. The staff were very friendly and the meals I had in the restaurant were huge and delicious! It was close to the underground as well as one of the stops for the hop on hop off tour (less than a 5 minute walk). The room was large, clean and comfortable.
Wifi internet in the room was horrible !!!! The only good spot for a good signal was on the roof top. Great view of the Acropolis by the way. They need to fix that problem! I booked a renovated room. Except the bathroom. Old style. Very disappointed. It shouldn't be post pictures on the site showing an updated bathroom.

The hotel has a great location. It is close to the metro, we walked to some great restaurants, and it is fairly quiet at night. The lighting was horrible. We all like to read before sleeping. If you do bring your headlamps. The breakfast is pretty bad if you like coffee. The coffee is not drinkable. It was some kind of instant from a machine.

Hotel is very close to Actopolis and Center so that was great. Roof top bar was closed, and there was no word about it in advert, which was disappointing. Very clean room! Breakfast was pretty bad, continental and repetative ... so that's deffinately area to improve. Very friendly staff!
If you intend to go around Athens and just need a clean place to rest, this is the best hotel to do so. The staff was very friendly. It is not as new as other hotels that we've too but the place has character and is very charming. We got a connecting room, so my husband and I had our privacy and each room has its own bathroom. We drove around downtown in a taxi and this area was actually one of the nicest.
I booked the room some months before our departure. The price wich I booked included breakfast. It was a non-refundable rate so I got the confirmation after payment. In the confirmation Expedia informed me that the rate did not include the brekfast and I had to pay further Eur 10/day for the breakfast. I could not get my money back although Expedia misleaded me. I did not get what I paid for. After a long correspondance and some phone calls I got always the same answer, and they were not willing to solve the problem but they were very unpolite and uncooperative. It was the first but also the last that I booked at Expedia! There are a lot of other agents wich are correct. I have never experienced this kind of fraud although I booked hundreds of rooms.
The hotel is basic but clean, the neighborhood is poor but metro station is near. The stuff is trying to be polite.

"Amazing accommodations for the budgeted traveler! "
Nafsika Hotel was situated in the perfect location, next to the metaxourghio metro station and an amazing cafe with the best gyros we found right across the sq. The double bed economy room is actually two twin beds but that didn't bother us much as the room was tidy and comfortable. The AC and TV were older, and didn't work up to normal standards but that was far outweighed by the friendly and helpful staff. My only complaint is that their bathroom was somewhat uncomfortably small and the plumbing had a strange smell that seemed to fill it at times, but for the price we paid I could not complain in the slightest. If you are looking for a cheap place from which you can easily explore Athens and beyond I strongly recommend Nafsika, the money we saved allowed us to do so much more within the city and even take a day trip to the Islands. If your looking for a luxury hotel, this is not the place for you - but if your not a persnickety fool and don't travel to stay in your room the entire trip, This will do just fine! easily accessible from the airport and easy access to all metro stations.

A neighborhood in Athens, Metaxourgio is a place full of transition. Once home to laborers, the neighborhood is now multicultural and undergoing mass urban-gentrification. It is close to Karaiskaki Square and has its own metro stop, Metaxourgio, that can whisk visitors to central Athens.
