We had a warm welcome from Abby and her husband, bearing delicious, homemade rhubarb and ginger sponge with great blobs of clotted cream and a large pot of tea.
Our garden annexe room was cosy, comfortable and clean, with a comfy super-king size bed. with a large en suite bathroom with underfloor heating, which was lovely and warm, on a wet and windy arrival day.
We over-looked a rambling and pretty garden with countryside views and hens wandering around freely. Which I loved as they were such characters, along with Valentino, the aptly named cockerel, who I believe, was moving to pastures new, in a day or so!
Fabulous breakfasts, lots of lovely choices and all fresh and very tasty. We stayed for 3 nights and on one very wet afternoon, sat in the lounge, again with tea, coffee and superb homemade scones with plum jam, butter and blobs of that gorgeous cream by a welcome log burner.
There was no WiFi or TV in the annexe, but we had downloaded a few different current series and watched them sitting on the bed, during the evening with a glass of wine.
We really enjoyed our stay, as did our lovely Lab-retriever, Ollie, who is well trained and loved the warmth of the underfloor heating under his dog-bed.
We loved our stay, and would thank our hosts, for a well thought out and friendly time.
Good luck to you both and perhaps we’ll see you again, Peter and Heather xx
