Friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was also good with a wide variety covering most tastes and diets. I would certainly stay there again and recommend it to others.

Hotel in nice village

Posted 12-Dec-2016
Pros: Old and Quaint and good car parking.
Cons: New children's beds and perhaps an little maintenance required.
Location: Nice village and 40 min drive through nice country lanes to Bath
Staff were very good and friendly, hotel has a lot of history and is situated in a nice village. Bar meals are good and worth trying. Room was clean. Children's beds have gone past there sell by date and recommend these to be changed Downside on arrival I was informed that there was a Christmas meal ongoing that evening and told there would be some noise, no problem but not that we a family with two children had a room above the disco. If known that the noise was going to keep the children awake, we would have booked some where else. Nothing was mentioned on Expedia at the time of reservation.

Great value and Old world charm

Charming old hotel, nice staff, friendly and helpful. Quirky layout reflecting old world design. Not the easiest hotel to get the bags in and out of. Easy parking, good location. Great value for money.

very quaint old pub

Posted 03-Oct-2016
Pros: good locality, although it's on the main road the double glazing keeps out all noise.
Cons: We enjoyed our stay and quite happy with how things are.
Location: As we were at a wedding didn't have chance to look around but seems a very pleasant place to visit. The locals all seem extremely friendly and helpful
Very pleasant stay, the staff are particularly helpful and friendly.

I stayed here two nights on business. I was made very welcome on check in. The wifi worked in the bar, outside in the beer garden and in the bar +ve. The food was good both nights and the breakfasts were excellent. Not many places at this price you're offered salmon and scrambled eggs! Id go back. One thing - get a shower early cos if its busy the hot waters gone!
