Staff were nice and accommodating. No actual business centre. Good enough place to lay your head. This hotel has permanent residents - some of whom do not like tourists and are very vocal about that.

The property was in a good stop for what we were doing in Melbourne. I was under the assumption that Mercure Hotels where one of the better named hotels. I must say that I was a little disappointed in how run down this hotel is and needs a lot of Maintenace.

I did not like that Mecure have still not returned the $100 security bond i had to pay. Its over 2 weeks. We left the room in at a high standard. They have not contacted me either, leaving it to me to still action.

The property was good. Room is exactly as is shown on images which is great. Nice size, not too large, but just good. Bathroom and kitchen well designed and planned. Location of this place is great. Close to all things CBD with a tram stop at very first corner. I only dealt with one employee, at check-in, however was really polite and helpful.

Good price with location handy to Vic markets, city, Carlton and Fitzroy. The rooms were clean and had a small fridge and microwave which came in handy. It was a good stay for a hotel but don’t expect a foyer or fancy bar.

I and my partner totally regretted that we booked here. Worst experience ever. We were confident in checking-in because it's Mercure. Howeve, when we got inside the hotel room, the tv was not functioning, the air conditioning iwas not responding and worst of all, we could hear footsteps fron the occupants of the upper floor. As a result, we were not able to sleep properly because we were awakened from the noise and footsteps from the upper floor. I went downstairs in the reception to cancel our booking for the rest of the days, but the receptionist advised that he won't be able to cancel since we're booked via Expedia. He told me to contact Expedia instead. He offered to transfer us to another room, but I refused since it'll just be the same as all their rooms have no proper soundproofing. To be fair with him, he also offered to fix the tv snd airconditioning, bui I refused since my mind was already made up to cancel the rest of the booking. So I called Expedia to cancel and they're willing to cancel provided that the property manager would agree. So Expedia contacted the property manager but the property manager declined to refund us for the cancellation. I and my partner decided to just leave the hotel the next day even though we won't be refunded for the rest of the days. We just wanted to book for another hotel so we could sleep properly over the weekend. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. One of the worst experiences.

Dear Remus,Thank you for your feedback. First, apologies for the inconvenience during the stay. The booking was booked on the prepaid rate with no changes and cancellation. We checked you in early at 13.08pm before the check in time as the room was ready and you arrived from the overseas flight. You advised the issues to the receptionist at 21.38pm which is several hours after the time you checked in. We offered to check the TV as our TV has the option of purchasing the movies and payment deducted from credit card so the TV could freeze from time to time. We also offered to check the setting of the air conditioner and room move to make your stay more comfortable, but you declined all the options. The hotel refuses the cancellation as we have provided the service and options of room move and etc, but none was taken. Once you check out, we sent our staff to check the TV, TV just need the reset (turn off-on) and with the air conditioner, it was on the cooling setting, so it doesn't warm up the room. If the hotel was unable to rectify the issues or you came and advised that you are unhappy with the room straightaway after you checked in, then we would offer the refund option. Good to rest your head; a bit dusty.
Our room was a good place to rest your head for the night, but not somewhere enjoyable to spend for some down-time if wanting to relax in the hotel room. Possibly because these are the business suite rooms, so only have the bed, armchair and desk chair. Whilst the room appeared quite clean, we noticed our devices would be covered in dust in the mornings upon waking - unsure whether this is from the AC or generally a dusty room. My partner's asthma flared up quite badly from being in the room. Whilst we didn't have a bad experience at this hotel, we will be staying elsewhere when we next visit Melbourne (and likely closer to the CBD or South Melbourne, rather than more northern Melbourne/Chinatown as we were this time). Daily room service was lovely, and the girls at reception upon checkin were very friendly and helpful.

Great that it was located next to the Queen Victoria Market (great coffee and breakfast/brunch for under $20). Wouldn’t recommend getting the tram along Elizabeth street with luggage though, that route is cram packed any time of day or night.

We have arrived after midnight,our room was in a poor condition,dirty and making us feel insecure.Water was heavily dripping from the shower exhaust fan. The hotel worker was ignoring this issue and also refused to turn the fan on. He new about the risk ,no good where electricity and water get in contact. He told us to stay in the room until next day or he will refund our money and we can get out. It was after midnight, this behaviour was unexceptionable.He also told us that they didn’t have Moore vacate rooms. We asked him how he can be so ignorant about this problem ,after this stressful time he has put us into a different room. Condition of this one was disappointing,dirty door handles,mould /fungus growing in the bathroom was creating lots of stress.Carpet not vacuumed.One months ago I have requested deep clean room.Very scary,because everyone does know about how Covid-19’s can spread and what fungus can do and dust can do to people with allergies.Next day more friendly staff promised to get read of the fungus,but nothing was done.More worst because the attitude of the hotel staff was more verbally abusive,also physically pointing into my wife face and using louder voice . It was very upsetting and I feel strongly we should be paid all our money back. This hotel should have completely new change over with staff who should be trained to do the jobs ,solving problems and understanding the importance of clean and safe environment.Marian

We also offered you a refund of the unused nights after your very first night when you were very unhappy with the room and again each time you had a new complaint.The manager on duty personally inspected your room and found the curtains to be clean, the bathroom free from mold/fungus etc. The housekeeping team provided us with photo evidence to show they cleaned the room after one of your requests, the reason there was dust and pollen was due to you demanding the window be open, which is actually against hotel policy, but we did for you.Our staff do there very best to please our guests, and being yelled and at abused is not necessary.We hope the rest of your travels were more enjoyable.

Close to the Queen Vic Markets and the CBD Close to public transport Black Mould in the shower barely working airconditioner- room was really cold and then hard to heat up Swapped from and original booking of twin beds to a queen and a rollout. The rollout mattress was terrible- soft and unsupporting despite them telling me it was a single bed mattress- now way! Upgraded carpet but all through the hotel there were paint scuffs and chps in walls and things not done properly. Needs a maintenance person to go around and fix all these small things which make the hotel look shabby. The front door had a wood panel which was left open as a result all day and night. Was not fixed in the 3 days we were there

I am not sure how to review this property. Staff members were helpful and friendly. The reception area feels like you can rent the rooms by the hour. Upstairs the ambience is a mis of trying to make it look classy but with every expense spared. Room was ok but single beds made me feel like a child and although recently refinished, everything felt cheap. Area can be a bit dodgy at night. I likely would not stay there or any Mercure again.

lil noisy,lil run down but location was what suited me. bed was a bit uncomfortable but overall room suited my needs.
