When travellers leave reviews based on an honest opinion about their stay, we should be able to at least expect these opinions to be indeed honest. Unfortunately, your review is furthest from being honest. Our cleaners have advised us that you arrived at the property more than an hour before check-in time (without prior notice). Graciously, you were offered to put your bags inside while they finished preparing the cottage for your stay. Some time later, our on-call customer service team was contacted by you with a request for a new fry pan and comments about the cookware, oven and stovetop. As you were advised, our cleaning staff attended the property immediately to inspect all cookware, oven and stovetop. Despite finding clean non-damaged cookware in a good useable condition, the attending cleaner gave them another scrub for you anyway and returned them to the cottage. While in attendance at the cottage, the cleaner also gave the stovetop and oven a deep clean. We are unsure of your intentions by leaving such a dishonest review or by making such false statements. When we remove the false and unsubstantiated statements that you made in your review, we are left with comments about the décor not being to your taste and a few minor normal wear and tear aspects of a heritage rented accommodation property. Because we take such pride in offering a wonderful property and excellent service, we treat such unfair and unjust reviews, such as this, very seriously. We have reported this review to Expedia and Guestchek and we will also be looking at addressing this review legally as you have disparaged and defamed our business with a review that is completely false.

Thank you for providing feedback about your stay. We feel your stay would have been much more enjoyable had you read the booking information that was sent to you prior to your arrival or even referred to our useful guest compendium available in the cottage. This information outlines that additional firewood, firelighters, kindling and breakfast provisions are always available to our guests on request. We also have on-call customer service available to our guests if they have any issues or questions during their stay. The Lyrebird Retreat has views of our beautiful gardens through the windows and from the cosy verandah at the front of the cottage. We are delighted that you found the bed to be comfy and we hope that you also had a wonderful relaxing time in the large spa bath. Thank you again and we look forward to your return.

Thank you so much for your feedback. Our apologies that there was a power outage during your stay. You will appreciate this is out of our control, however we were in contact with the electricity provider regularly and kept you updated, in turn, to advise you of the estimated time when electricity was to be restored. All of our cottages have a very detailed guest compendium located in the cottage to assist guests with any questions they may have during their stay as well as recommendations for local restaurants and things to do and see in the area. We also have a dedicated customer care team that is available to answer any questions that you may have during your stay. As detailed in the guest compendium, our spas have a self cleaning function and after use they will turn on for a brief period to clear any water/air in the line. Apologies that the power outage stimulated this self cleaning function on the spa and had you contacted us we could have assisted you further with ensuring this did not disturb you in any way.
