"The hotel is very dated and not as well maintained as the photos look. Furniture along the halls on the 3rd floor that were oddly placed. We paid £80 in addition to the stay, for the spa (price for a couple) and it was not worth it, it felt overbooked so had to wait to move between the facilities, floor tiles moved around the jacuzzi, food in the spa wasn’t great. We got to our hotel room at 9:30 after the twilight spa to find the electricity wasn’t working, we had to wait in the dark for someone to come and fix the fuse. Treadmill screen broke in the gym so was unable to track workout. Golf course looked amazing but unfortunately we were not there for a golf trip. Overall disappointed for the price we paid and would not recommend or be returning."

"We stayed in one of the feature rooms, the carpet was in areas threadbare, which I have never had in a nice hotel before) and behind the sofa the was dirt which had collected there for quite a while and that was threadbare as well, the room could do with a bit of a makeover and freshener up in the bathroom as there was black mold on shower door and tiles. Otherwise a lovely stay."

"Great stay, fantastic gym facilities, pool sauna etc. and great breakfast and dining options. We dined at the San Carlo restaurant which was absolutely outstanding."

"Expedia listing did not say the room I booked was basically a basement prison cell without the benefit of a window. Horrible. No one answers the phone at this property. When you call the number on Google you get charged, even if you hang up the moment you hear the voice saying you’ll be charged. Car Park blocked by bad parker , despite telling the front desk, car did not move so I had to park off site. Never stay at any hotel managed by this chain for the sketchy phone system alone. I have >£2 of charges which isn’t a lot of money in the big picture, but not something hotel guests should ever have to pay, especially when I hung up right away It was the local number I found that no one ever picked up. Bad."

"The room was serviceable. The reception staff very ordinary and unprofessional. When we arrived after a long trip we were greeted by Thea with “Name”. We were not asked if we wanted a dinner booking or provided with information on check out times. When I raised these issues with the Operations Manager I was offered one drink voucher even though I was with my husband. "

"The hotel looked very posh and impressive from the outside, and that was probably the only part I genuinely liked. Unfortunately, once inside, it felt about 30 years behind modern standards. The room was clean, but honestly, the average person probably has a better bedroom and bathroom at home than what was being offered here. I also paid extra for a room with a king-size bed, but it was the smallest “king” bed I’ve ever seen, which was really disappointing. The bath was ridiculously small too — I could barely even stand in it properly, and I’m a fit, average-sized person, so that was pretty pathetic. On top of that, the TV looked like something from the 1950s, which just added to how outdated the whole place felt. Overall, it was a big disappointment and nowhere near worth the extra money."
