Idyllic Country Retreat
This is a beautiful very opulent home for anyone looking for a touch of luxury . The room was very spacious and my favourite thing about it was, not the comfortable bed or the large choice of tv channels but the comfy armchairs. I love a comfy armchair in the bedroom and you will not get this in most hotels. The en suite is enormous with fab power shower and a jacuzzi bath. We also had access to the library in the evening which was lovely. Our host Mary is very nice and cooked us beautiful breakfasts each morning. She was very helpful with local information and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

The Westbrook country House was the best place we stayed at in our travels, large bedroom and bathroom. Very quiet, excellent breakfast. I can't say enough good things about the place.

A magical time in Castlebar
The whole experience was just outstanding. Mary, the host was just brilliant and extremely accommodating. She couldn't do enough for us to make sure all was perfect. Pat her husband made my wife's year organising the evenings entertainment. What Pat organised was a highlight for my wife which she never thought would ever happen nor will ever forget. The accommodation, service and these lovely lovely people come very highly recommended. Thank you very very much Mary and Pat. We will see yous again. Magical Experience. 5 stars to you both.

We had the most amazing stay. Our hostess Mary was so friendly, informative, professional and made us feel apart of her family. The accommodations were so clean and the room was so huge and beautiful. I told her I felt like a queen. This was the best accommodations I have ever had-definitely 5 plus rating from my husband and me. We will definitely come back.

Mary was so personable, provided an amazing breakfast, had nice little touches throughout (tea and coffee waiting when we arrived). The beds are wonderfully comfortable with very nice linens. Her home is incredible, felt like royalty.

This is a destination in itself. Built (not retrofitted) to host with quiet HUGE rooms full of beautiful furniture and formal china settings. Wonderful bed and linens. The location is so convenient to Ballycroy, Archill Island, Kylemore and Connemora.

I had to booked this client into the nearby Hotel yesterday as due to the corona virus my Country House is closed and all staff have been sent home I could not accept this client here at Westbrook for that reason. I know that today the hotel is also closing for the same reason I’m sorry the timing of this booking clashed with these extraordinary times we are experiencing and hopefully when this is passed I would like to offer this guest a complimentary stay at Westbrook when we are back up and open for business. For the moment everyone be safe and every blessing Mary

A stunning georgian inspired country house, beautifully furnished throughout. Our suite was enormous with a very comfortable bed, a lovely dressing room and very large bathroom with a shower and separate spa bath. Mary, our hostess, was very hospitable and we enjoyed an extensive breakfast menu. Highly recommended!

A very elegant stay!! Rooms are large and graciously appointed with bottled water, plenty of towels (ensuite bath) . There is also a separate parlor to watch TV, make a cup of tea, or relax and read a book.

Absolutely amazing!
Watch your step when you walk in the front door of this absolutely stunning home. You will be so busy taking in the amazing foyer that you may miss the step down. The foyer sets the scene for the rest of this magnificent property which must be seen to be appreciated. Photos simply do not do it justice. Our room was spacious, stunningly decorated, well furnished and very comfortable. As with the public areas, it was spotlessly clean. And my husband raved over the comfort of the bed - the best we had in a 2 month trip. The tasty breakfast was cooked to order and served in the dining room. The hotel only has 8 guests, and all eat at the same table. It provides a great opportunity to engage with fellow travellers from around the world. Thankyou Mary. It was a privilege to be able to spend a couple of nights in your home.

Fabulous property the only shame was we only stayed for one night. Our friends and us had a two bedroom Wong with its own sitting room. Breakfast was excellent. This was a great stay.

The attention to detail is wonderful, each room has its own style, we had a beautiful rose coloured suite with so much elegance and a jacuzzi bath. There are no tv's in the rooms which my husband and I loved. There was a Tv room available if we wanted to use it. The library is stunning, full of character, the perfect place for tea and biscuits. Mary our host was just lovely, so accommodating and she makes a delicious breakfast. We can't wait to go back.

I had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before so I wasn't sure what to expect. The home was welcoming and the lady that runs the place was very helpful when we were trying to find a post office to ship some of our purchases back to our home!

Castlebar trip
We were attending the Royal Theatre for a concert and stayed for 1 night. Mary greeted us very warmly on arrival and we were shown our room and then a lounge where we had coffee and could relax after our journey. The room was superb, very comfortable and the ensuite had a super shower! Breakfast was perfect and guests all dined at the same table which may not suit everyone but we were happy with this. Mary sorted us with a lovely taximan to take us into Castlebar and collected us afterwards. I'd highly recommend and we will be back!
