Lovely surprise birthday brownie from the hotel. Service is excellent without being intrusive. Great VIP benefits. Would recommend the Stafford and can't wait to come again!!

Wonderful hotel Excellent location

Posted 13-Jul-2017
Stayed here 3 years ago and my second stay this week was just as wonderful. Both times I stayed 5 nights. Staff and restaurants are awesome. Love the location with immediate access to Green Park. Peaceful and quiet setting hard to find in London. Older hotel that is classic London and they do a fantastic job of maintaining the property. I'm very picky and I will certainly pick The Stafford again

We always stay here

Pros: everything
Cons: size of rooms
There is no better hotel in London in terms of location and elegance. We have stayed there many times over the years and have never been disappointed. In fact, it would never occur to us to stay elsewhere. The hotel has actually improved recently; the dining room has been renovated and they have found a first rate new chef. It is a pleasure to dine there now. The only negative is the size of the rooms. Even by European standards they are very small, though well appointed. But if you are claustrophobic you may wish to stay elsewhere. That would be a pity, though.

The best location, great rooms, the most comfortable rooms and the best staff you can find in London. I love this hotel and they have been very good to myself and my family.

Excellent hotel in central London

Posted 24-May-2017
Cons: Providing upgrades and some complimentary extras - such as a free breakfast for long stays - shows that the management cares about return guests
This is a quiet hotel in a secluded courtyard in central London in St James's - just five minutes to Bond St, Green Park underground, Piccadilly, Fortnum & Mason, St James's Palace and a short walk to Buckingham Palace. We had a "classic" room - nicely appointed, very comfortable for 2, marble bathroom,. They email you before to inquire the type of bedding and pillows you prefer so your bed is made up with the type of comforter and type of pillows you like! I was a repeat guest, it would have been nice to receive an upgrade but that was not the case - I had written requesting either an upgraded room or breakfast - I did get a complimentary hotel car to Paddington to catch the Heathrow Express. All in all, a great hotel, reasonably priced for 5 stars, in central London.

The Stafford - London

The staff was great and the hotel was beautiful! As with most european hotels the room was small but very nice. It had a shower and a bath tub! The location was great. Walking distance to so many parks, historic buildings, parks, restaurants, and shopping (for my daughter). Only one issue, our first night we had dinner in their "American Bar" and while we were sitting there awaiting our food, several small mice ran thru the area. We informed the staff and they claimed they were going thru some recent rennovation the day before and a few mice got into that area of the hotel thru some small openings and that exterminators were coming that night to take care of it. It is and old city and hotel, but we never saw any other signs in the hotel or our room that would make us think it was a reoccurring issue. One night we dined at FishWorks on Sparrows St. close to the hotel. Absolutely great!!! Also The Wolseley restaurant, the food was great but the staff wasn't friendly unless you were in a suit. Try that if you dare...

Beautiful hotel

Wonderful hotel although let down as a VIP expedia member didn't receive any upgrades or complimentary items . Would prefer hotel not to advertise it as a VIP expedia hotel as this is obviously misleading.
