You will be "Blown Away"! New Dock!

"“Blown Away” was a great place to stay and accommodated my family of four plus my sister-in-law and her two daughters. The view was awesome and it was so nice to sit on the dock and swim and watch the water. There were a couple minimal issues but the owner went out of her way to quickly alleviate them. We had the transformer to the house go out during our stay and the owner was quick to get the city electric company out to handle it. The house is off the beaten path but well worth the peace and quiet."

"Had an amazing stay everything was clean and well-maintained. The rooms look like they had been recently renovated. Unable to hear my neighbors above below or around me. And one of the most comfortable bed beds I slept in."

"Pros: Pretty country setting, easy check in and check out, good communication with owners, friendly neighborhood dog, lots of room for big families, well stocked with games. Cons: Couldn’t be outside at night to enjoy the fire pit because of the mosquitoes. BRING BUG SPRAY! Hot water heater makes using the downstairs bathroom or tub impossible, they never get warm. Front screen door handle falls off every time you open it. Nice overall house, old farm house with quarks. Quiet location outside of the beach, easy daily drive to Nags Head."

"An amazing respite. The cottage has been beautifully updated. It was so clean, comfortable and cozy. The hosts have thought of every amenity a guest would need. The fully stocked and prepared coffee bar was such a treat. And of course for me the star was the view. Sitting in a rocker on the full length screened in porch, looking at river and feeling the breeze was exactly what I needed. I’m already looking for dates to return!"

"We had an amazing stay. I brought my 17‑foot Starcraft boat, and the host went above and beyond by putting it in the water for me and giving us full use of their dock. The property is peaceful, private, and offers gorgeous views of the sound inlet. We definitely plan to come back."

"It is a very quiet and relaxing community. The locals are great people to chat with. Although the drive is a hour from obx there is practically no traffic until you reach obx. This place also offers so much between darts foosball and billiards table to keep my kids from saying their bored! Which is the best part in my opinion. Fishing the creek here was fun. Our family caught crab, flounder, spot fish, croaker, and shrimp, tons of minnows for bait and at the end 3 eels. Which offers great down time between trips to obx. I did find out that one of the foodlions in obx delivers out to engelhard but only found it out the night before we left. Just a disclaimer cell service can be spotty so keep that in mind. This trip was the first time in a very long time that I seen the word roaming and the 1st I've even seen roaming on my phone. Ethco stays open until 10pm so snacks, drinks and mini pizzas are a short walk away. If you stay here far creek sells really good breakfast sandwiches that arnt overly priced. If you plan on fishing with worm stock up before arriving as the closest place ive seen with them was Chris's grocery in swan quarter about 30 minutes away and they sell quite a few other good things there like select meats frozen foods and what not. I personally would stay here again!"
