We just returned from a week's stay at this lovely Sheraton hotel. The hotel building and layout could not be faulted as it's very cleverly built into the mountains with swimming pools on different levels and the hotel is spacious, modern and clean. We saw teams of people continuously cleaning whilst we were there. The golf course is excellent and my husband enjoyed a couple of rounds with people he met during our stay. The spa looked stunning although I didn't actually get around to having a treatment. We went with our two boys age 12 & 9 and had a suite which worked brilliantly for us as its difficult to find rooms that suit families in decent hotels which aren't extortionately priced. The boys had a double sofa bed and an extra camp bed in one room with a TV and then there was a corridor with a row of wardrobes and our room with TV was at the other end. The balcony was huge and ran the length of the room with large bathroom, separate toilet and shower. We had half board so ate breakfast and dinner in the buffet most nights. The buffet was excellent with an enormous selection and variety of foods including middle eastern and sushi one night and seafood another. We tried the other restaurants for dinner but didn't rate either of them. My only criticism of the Sheraton would be that they don't do enough to cater for families and in particular for older kids.
Great experience, me and my daughter stayed for a week.. perfect location, great amenities.. too bad the internet wasn't "FREE". Also maybe a suggestion, Breakfast would be better if it was "changed a bit" every day... too repetitive.
Overall a good experience - the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bungalows were cleaned every day and fresh towels/bed linen regularly. Lots of great wardrobe space.
The kitchen could be slightly better equipped - maybe with a toaster, microwave and a few more cooking utensils but we managed.
When booking, ask for bungalows which get sun in the morning - we had one that was in shade for most of the day.
Stayed for 2 weeks. Basic accommodation but very reasonable price. Beds are very small and low - fine for me but not for anyone tall any time big! Not much provided in kitchen again all very basic. Fridge casing damaged but did not affect use. Bathroom ok with shower over bath. Towels changed regularly (perhaps even too often!) Bungalows cleaned every day except Tuesday and Thursday. Outside patio area with table and chairs and two sun loungers.
Main pool and gardens kept nicely
Didn't eat at restaurant so can't comment. Supermarket on site carried basic selection as well as random things like Christmas ornaments! Also had laundrette but not used by me.
Main downside was no air con. Very hot in Maspalomas! Staff ordered unit for me (100 euros + 20 deposit for 2 weeks) but totally unsuitable for room! DO NOT BOTHER! Unit has to vent hot air out of window which is over head of bed
so it is placed right next to your pillow! See photos. Got money less deposit back but shouldn't be offering something that obviously doesn't work. Get fan.

Maspalomas is famous for its photogenic giant sand dunes which separate it from Playa del Inglés. This is a protected area, open only to walkers and camel safaris. The man-made resort lacks a central focus though the 65 metre-high Faro de Maspalomas, built 1886, is a striking landmark. La Charca, a seawater lagoon, hosts many species of migratory birds. Family attractions include two water parks and Holiday World funfair.
