Our room faced the road, so quite a bit of noise from traffic as well as clock tower chimed each 15mins. Blinds instead of curtains on 2 of the windows allowed a fair amount of street light in. The pool was great. Person on reception showed me the area and got me a pool towel. Staff generally extremely friendly and helpful.

We stayed at The Chateau Marlborough for one night. The reception we got was so welcoming and a room upgrade too! The room was lovely, nice bed - not too soft - and the shower facilities were beautiful. The provided toiletries were Elmis - beautiful range. We did not eat in the restaurant but found Armadillo’s, about a 20 min walk from the hotel. Cheap and cheerful but the food was excellent. I would definitely stay at the Chateau Marlborough again - it was excellent value for money.

would love to stay here again
I was only here for a short visit because I got in very late and left early the next morning but it was the nicest place I stayed while in NZ. My room was huge and I loved the little seating area outside.

This is my second stay at this property. We stayed almost 6 years ago and since we enjoyed it then we decided to come back. They no longer have the guest laundry which I was counting on but everything else was quite nice.

Couples trip
We stayed for 2 nights. It was close to the wineries and they had a fantastic restaurant that made it easy after a long day wine tasting. The guy overseeing the restaurant was so nice and accommodating. The whole staff was working hard as a team.

Good hotel, but not what we consider 5 star luxury. Feels like more of a 3.5-4 star. So still good. Room was spacious. Bed very comfortable. Excellent shower. Restaurant was OK. We had dinner on the first night. Found two skewers still left in the fillet mignon which was a very unpleasant surprise. Almost swallowed the first one which would have meant a trip to A&E! Told the staff who said sorry but that was it. Thought they may have taken a bit off the bill or offered a free coffee or dessert. Decided after that to eat elsewhere in town.
