We stayed for 5 nights and had a great experience. If you are longing for a unique local bed and breakfast type motel this is the place. It's history and charm takes you right back to the times of the Gold Rush. The management and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We looked forward to seeing all of them each morning as we ate our excellent and healty free breakfast, prior to departing to our next Yosemite site. It had an excellent cafe with the same historic charm as the motel. The sandwiches were awesome and we took them to go for our daily picnics not to mention our flight home. The patio setting was great and spent one night there roasting marshmellows and glaxing at the amazing shooting star show. You can see the milky way clearly for this location. It is right in the center of town and you can walk to a different excellent restraunt each day for lunch or dinner. Our experince really took us back to a simpler time in our countries history when friendly customer service was prevalent. We wouldn't have changed anything about our stay. Thank you to Jill, Adam and the rest of the River Rock Inn team.
We were very pleasantly surprised at the spaciousness of the unit we rented. The main area had a queen bed, and there was a second room with another queen bed plus a twin. The unit also had a kitchenette, with sink/faucet, electric stove, microwave and small fridge. We were very, very pleased.
I planned a last-minute trip to Yosemite, and this was the only hotel left with available rooms in Mariposa by the time we booked. It wouldn't have been our first choice, but it certainly got the job done and provided us a place to stay while we toured Yosemite. As far as the bare minimum I expect in a hotel, Yosemite Inn made the grade. The beds were comfy enough for a decent night's rest, the A/C was effective, and the water was nice and hot for a comfortable shower in the morning. The pool, although very small, was just enough for a quick dip to cool off after a day in the park, and the location is adequate (and about the best you can do if all the accommodations in Yosemite are already sold-out. The hotel recently updated its TV/cable set-up, and now every room has Direct TV. The ice machine worked fine. If you can't book inside Yosemite and the nicer places in Mariposa are already booked, don't hesitate to stay here. Just don't expect much more than a place to sleep.

Clay & Joy really made me feel welcome on my visit here. This place is out in the countryside West of Mariposa so make sure you get good directions before leaving the main road. It is worth the effort - the magical experience of watching the Humming Birds and Deer from the verandah will remain with me for a long time - far better than staying in a hotel in a town. The whole stay was excellent - good WiFi to keep in touch with home was a real pleasure. The breakfasts were superb - lovely home cooking with lots of local produce - they even understand our British love of strong tea! I can highly recommend Yosemite Bed & Breakfast.
