This historic home, one of the first built in Manzanita in 1946, has been updated for modern comfort. It is located across the street from the beach with an incredible ocean view. It has been updated to maintain many of the charming original features, such as some original light fixtures and a laundry shoot. This inviting home features new furnishings, updated electronics, and a recently expanded upper-level deck with new outdoor furniture for panoramic views of the ocean and Neah-Kah-Ni Mountain. Walk in and immediately see the ocean through large picture windows and a sliding glass door to the lower patio and large fence yard. The updated full kitchen has granite countertops a dedicated dining area, and is fully equipped with new pots, pans, and bakeware for all your cooking and baking needs. The living room has natural light and is complete with a smart TV and Bluetooth stereo system. Curl up in front of the fireplace and look out at the ocean or read a book while you relax. The bedrooms have TVs for your enjoyment. The main level has one bedroom with a queen bed and another bedroom with two bunk beds with memory foam toppers, great for kids! Walk upstairs, and you will find the sizeable primary bedroom with a king bed. The bonus room has 'The World's Comfiest Couch,' which can be used as a twin for additional sleeping. It also includes an extensive board game library and many books to read during Manzanita's cozy, rainy days. This home's outdoor living space is just as inviting as the inside. Step out onto the beautiful upstairs deck with a spectacular 180-degree ocean view, mountain view, and teak outdoor furniture. The downstairs offers a covered shady deck with benches and a barbeque grill. Relax and enjoy the cool ocean breeze on the lower deck, or lounge in the sun on the upper deck. This house has everything your family needs for the perfect beach vacation, including its location. There are beach chairs, umbrellas, and beach tents for everyone to enjoy, with easy access to the beach, a short walk from the front door. The home is close to Main Street, where you can find clothing boutiques, a grocery and deli, delicious restaurants, ice cream parlors, and coffee shops. THINGS TO KNOW There is no air-conditioning, but there are portable fans. This home will have a seasonal gas grill that is generally available from May through September, depending on inclement weather. If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The location was great and the house had tons of space. Nice views and lots of supplies (toys, cleaning supplies, condiments, etc.). It did not meet expectations for cleanliness: there were some dirty dishes on the shelves, dirt in some bathroom areas, etc.. The primary bedroom bed was not very comfortable and also loud (squeaky), which was a problem with our sleeping infant. Most critically, there was a large nest of yellow jackets just off the driveway. As I was unloading the car just after arrival I was swarmed and stung several times. Lucky that the baby was not! I had to leave the car doors open at night because they also completely infested the car. I understand that there's an element of bad luck that the yellow jackets chose this house to nest, but the reality is that it did happen, it did negatively affect our stay in a major way, and unless there are continuous preventative measures put in place this will continue to be a problem affecting this location in the future. ##### Isaac M. It is comfortable with all the amenities. The house was very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. It seemed most of the kitchen items were new including cookware, knifes and even the kitchen sink. There were many places to sit and relax inside and out. We loved our stay. We love the location and the layout of the house. The deck and s awesome! The house is clean and beds/sofas comfortable. The kitchen is decently stocked but I’ve learned to bring my own knives and baking items. I’m sure this house is rented a lot due to prime location, coastal view and comfort. It needs some maintenance- doors replaced, flooring (in some places), new stove etc. everything works, it’s just a little run down. ##### Karoline B. Kitchen well appointed. Smart TVs in all rooms. Note that the Spectrum internet service is only 100Mbps which was fine for us, but could cause issues with a house full of streaming devices. King and Queen beds were same mattresses and quite comfortable -- on the softer side though, but not sure what's up with other complaints. BBQ worked fine. Tons of games and puzzles. Definitely issues with mold in the upstairs bathroom and its tub is quite difficult to step into. Would have been 5+ stars with a better upstairs bathroom. ##### Michael M. So was the size and space, plenty of room for the adults and teens to spread out. The only issue we had was there was one fan for the whole house, and there were no screens in the bedrooms. There were a ton of flying bugs outside, and it was so hot, but no one was comfortable having their screen left window wide open all night. I recommend screens and a fan per bedroom. Otherwise, wonderful space and a great stay. ##### Lea B. Hallie House works well for a group and is dog friendly. Close to the beach. Top deck has an amazing view of the ocean. Cleaners should clean the windows, inside and out. We bought Windex and cleaned the windows facing the beach. Sunsets were glorious. House is well-supplied. Could use an outside plug for charging EVs. Not a good place to rent if you have mobility issues. There are many steps, both to get into the house and once you're in the house. Main floor bathroom shower should have a sturdy grab bar. This is the 3rd time we've rented this house. Had a wonderful stay each time. Deck furniture is handy. Overall, an excellent rental. Just not if you find stairs a challenge. ##### Robin P.
