Nice but a little lazy presentation

The hotel overall is nice looking, and property presents well. Getting down to the details, it's a bit lazy of a property. They do just enough, but not resort level. The amenities look nice at first, but some are little dirty, like the tiles. Lower bedding near the floor. Dated tv with no hdmi. It sounds petty but even the do not disturb signs are cheap and falling apart. There were little inkjet paper ads for the spa that were bleeding ink because of the humidity. See, lazy, just enough - not quite at a 'resort level'. But for the stay there, getting out in the town it was fine we only slept and had breakfast there. The patios are notable if you ask for an upgrade. Breakfast was ho hum, fruit good, everything else average. Pizza good, woodfire. Other menu items bland. Over priced. Goto Emilios nearby for nice ambiance dinner.
Another note, because of the hillside location it is not easy to get anywhere on foot. The taxis have a bit of a tourist lock. It's $10 to go even down the street, manuel antonio, or into quepos. We did find a taxi in tiwn for $8, or 4000 colones versus 5000. And he gave us his number so we used him instead...
