Old property, needs a major refresh. Breakfast buffet is barely marginal. Hot items were at best lukewarm.had to wait for ~15 minutes to get the potatoes and finally when they arrivef, they were absolutely cold. had requested early check-in, butvwerevasked to waitfor two gours beforewe could get into our room. Does not live upto the Marriott brand name.

Very limited television channels. No CNN or BBC. River view was nice(at a cost). Staff were top notch. Wi-Fi was poor. Couldn’t watch Netflix without buffering. The hotel was very quiet. A little pricey for lack of entertainment in room and dial up speed Wi-Fi. 25-30 minute walk to old town.

We spent two nights at the hotel and we were outside most of the time. If you are planning to stay longer, make sure to ask for an upgrade, because the rooms especialy the bathrooms are very old and need to be renovated.

I loved everything about this hotel except the Hamburger! Location is great, staff are fantastic, amazing breakfast, and nice pool! However, we enjoyed the location so much that we decided to stay for lunch even after checking out and the hamburger I ordered wasn't good at all, could not eat it. When we mentioned that to the waitress (she saw it was not eaten) there was no reaction -- no apology and we still had to pay 21 euros for it. Too bad.

Lovely stay
We were doing a road trip through Germany, which meant changing hotels every few days. The Marriott Heidelberg was a splash of luxury that was greatly needed -- actual air conditioning, a pool and sauna, and wonderfully comfortable beds. It's a nice, quiet property right on the river and not far from the old town and castle.

Great location and easy parking. The hotel overall could benefit from an update. The beds especially - half of our king bed dipped so badly we used a pillow to even the bed out!

Great location & access to the old town
Nice location, although out of town very good Tram,Bus and walking access to the Alte Stadt. Excellent restaurant, friendly staff. Some facilities looked a little tired and the hotel bar was closed some weekday evenings. The riverbank gardens & service was a pleasant bonus.
