The hotel building has an interesting history with original features throughout. Staff were always obliging with our requests .

I probably should have done my homework on this hotel before booking my stay. I had to learn the hard way that it’s known to be one of the top most haunted places in Manchester. Don’t get me wrong, the building is beautiful, the lobby is beautiful and the rooms are great. But the tension and anxiety you feel as you walk through the hallways after getting off the elevator .. it takes away the whole purpose of being relaxed at a hotel. The hallway lights are sensors so they stay off for the most part, and at night it’s the most creepiest experience ever. I would only recommend this place if you enjoy that kind of stuff, otherwise it’s not worth it.

The staff was great. The room was clean and beautiful . Not your ordinary hotel which made our stay that much more special. The English breakfast was wonderful and yummy. The restaurant at Kimpton - the Refuge food was delicious. The Kimoton is close to all your needs whether it’s for food convenient stores or buses and trams. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic one night stay at this hotel as a family of four. A very comfortable room, and brilliant breakfast, but what stood out the most was the staff - everyone we came into contact with was so warm, helpful and friendly. Thank you!

I moved from the excellent nearby Brooklyn Hotel because I wanted to spend a couple of nights in one of Manchester's grandest and most impressive buildings. The lobby isn't large but is beautiful. The hotel itself is a fascinating maze, which lots of strange turns and unexpected interior details. It isn't quite luxurious -- the age of the building precludes that -- but it is quite nice. I very much liked my room with a large (and very nicely appointed) bath and views (a little restricted by smallish windows) on three sides including over the nearby railtracks. Basically, this is a very nice hotel in a very unique setting. Probably not as impressive as it was at its heyday - but fun and comfortable nevertheless.

Property lovely. Room very warm and air con didn’t seem to help. Ordered a chilled bottle of wine to be delivered to the room before arrival…but it wasn’t there! Then got charged to my card afterwards anyway!! :)

My Dad and I went to see Manchester United vs. Liverpool at Old Trafford. The hotel staff was great about showing us how to navigate the tram system so we took the tram from St. Peter’s sq to ManCity to take the stadium tour and to get to Old Trafford for the game. All of about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Lots of great food within walking distance, had a great breakfast at the hotel. They were having train strikes during our trip so the hotel staff got us a driver to get us to the airport. Everyone was so nice and helpful, would definitely recommend coming back.

The building was amazing! lots of history. The Bedroom and facilities were 1st class. Would highly recommend staying here and will stay next time we are in town. Its next door to the Palace theatre and 20mins walk from o2 Apollo.

The hotel is nice with a great restaurant onsite. Other dining options plus a grocery store are an easy walk from the hotel. Concierge and front desk were great. One of the best hotel gyms I’ve experienced. My only 2 issues are that they have company meetings/events which take up areas that can be used by guests specifically the game area. Also noise from the street and the DJ at the restaurant can be loud.

Excellent. Beautiful. Very friendly, down to earth staff. Staff at breakfast super lovely. Clean, well decorated. Loved the artwork in the rooms. The plants everywhere just make you feel so chill. Will 100% stay here again.
