The front entrance had a chain preventing entry via the driveway so I went to another driveway and spotted a door with a reception sign next to it. I approached the reception sign only to realise ...

Checked in for 3 nights - most amazing views, lovely stylish hotel with very friendly, accommodating staff - family run and these shines through into the overall experience of the hotel. Great food, the most comfortable bed. Would stay again
Romance is most definitely in the air in Manchester; it's a hot spot for couples from all over Europe who come here for a romantic weekend away or to celebrate a special anniversary or occasion. You'll find a wide range of romantic hotels in the city, from boho chic independent hotels on Canal Street to country house hotels in leafy suburbs and five-star chain hotels in listed Edwardian buildings. There's something to suit all tastes and budgets.
What does every romantic break need? A spa hotel, of course! You'll find plenty of them in the city centre, from historic chain hotels to boutique design hotels. Full-service spas offering a menu of face and body treatments are the perfect place to unwind, followed by a dip in the hotel pool and dinner at one of the restaurants at your hotel, or in the city centre. If you don't want to venture further than your room, you'll find many hotels provide 24-hour room service and some even offer in-room massages. With amenities such as free WiFi, TVs, iPod docks and DVD players, you'll be entertained 24/7.
There are a number of bars and restaurants in the city centre and near Old Trafford where you can rub shoulders with Premier League players over a cocktail or two - but one of the city's most iconic bars is Cloud 23. Located on the 23rd floor of the Hilton at Deansgate, you'll enjoy stunning panoramic views of the city skyline at night, with attentive table service. You'll find a variety of different restaurants to choose from too, so if you don't feel like dining at your hotel, you can take you pick from Korean, Chinese, Thai, French, Indian or Mexican cuisine (to name a few) or book a table at a fine dining establishment to impress your partner.
When it comes to a romantic break, Manchester's hotels offer amenities to ensure you don't have anything to stress about. With many hotels offering a turn-down service, designer toiletries and robes, you can relax and unwind, whatever you intend to get up to on your break.
