Think everyone in the hotel was attending The Foo Fighters gig, as were we. Please take pity on your staff and ensure extra bar staffing on gig nights: there was a long queue, the bar staff had been hoping to finish at midnight I suspect, and bar stocks were running out. Otherwise, room service breakfast was wonderful - a real treat.

Only stayed one night but couldn't fault the room, it was a good size and had an amazing bathroom with a full sized bath and a shower big enough for two. Breakfast was good quality, although there was a bit of a wait for a table.

Big brand hotel close to railway station. Breakfast included in our deal, and was varied and very busy! We stayed after a gig at the Ethiad, came back for a drink had to queue for quite some time as only 2 barmen working as it had been quieter earlier. Room was comfortable, good bathroom facilities too. Only thing missing was a kettle in the room, I really wanted a cuppa at half 6 in the morning and couldn't. Didn't want to call room service for that. Overall, good location, facilities, pleasant staff. Easy check-in/out process too. Recommended.

Great except no room service after 11.00 pm (when you need it!) and inadequate amount of drinks for a suite room with meeting/dining area.

Appalling hotel. Couldn’t get breakfast as there was a one hour wait. Met a regular in the lift who advised it was always like that and even when you get in to breakfast you have to order eggs and by the time you get them the rest of the food is cold. Hotel would not give refund or offer any solution other then a glass of juice whilst waiting!! Wouldn’t stay here again when you stay bed and breakfast you kind of assume the hotel can offer both!!! Want a refund as had to go elsewhere.

Stay to remember

Stayed there just for one night on May 27t)..if i would know than what i know now ...i would be better of renting a car for a day and sleep in it/ or sleep at the airport would be a lot less stressful than staying in this hotel ...Management and staff is clueless as can be about their own place!..around 11am when we checked in ...fire alarm when off..whole place got paralyzed for close to 1hr until they figure out how to stop it ..there was no fire ...than after getting back from the concert to the hotel around 11pm we stayed in bar for 10min to celebrate our engagement that took place at the concert ..and here we go ..fire alarm is on again ..so entire place gets shot down again ..this time entire hotel is on the lobby of hotel about 400+ ppl, the staff had no idea how to resolve issue of alarm going off ..they were looking on the control board for alarm system and pressing every single possible button whit NO IDEA what they were doing --it is Shame how possibly the hotel have uneducated staff to be able to provide basic safety protection for their guests -they had no idea about their own system!! ..1am entire hotel is crashing on lobby and bar floors trying to sleep, Fire Department arrived around 130am - no fire.. end it at 430 am ..still no phone call

Not set up for busy times

Posted 13-Jun-2018
We visited on a busy weekend and had to queue for the check in desk and then wait an hour for our room to be available despite arriving at the allotted check in time. We had to pay for our own drinks at the hotel bar while we waited, only getting a drink voucher after 45 minutes and another queue at the check in desk to check up on our room status. The room when it became available however was clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom.

The hotel was very old and dirty. The room was dirty and badly designed. You could barely walk through to the beds, even though it was a large room, because I think an extra bed had been squashed in the room. The bathroom was very dirty too and there was no space to put stuff down. I was very disappointed. I had stayed with this chain in Bath and this hotel in Manchester was awful in comparison. I also emailed before travelling asking if there was a pool, and wasn’t told there wasn’t one, so that was another disappointment when arriving.
