Great hotel, difficult to get in and out of

Posted 17-Nov-2015
Pros: Loved the room, very roomy bathroom with both a tub and separate shower.
Location: The location was a challenge. Hard to get in and out of the hotel due to how the entrance was set up.
The room was very clean and had a great view. The staff was very attentive. Really enjoyed the breakfast, good service and excellent food.

Lovely hotel

Posted 08-Nov-2015
Pros: Bright rooms. Very clean
Loved the room etc. Very clean. Bit naughty asking £20 for parking when it is not the cheapest place to stay in the first place. It is a walk out of town and no where really to eat etc around the hotel. So if you want or need central look elsewhere

Room good. Bed too short. Breakfast awful: too few staff to even bring tea! Baked beans cold - unacceptable shambles. Check in slow : no staff.

a lot of queuing

Posted 02-Nov-2015
Pros: the staff were nice
Cons: food (even crisps and nuts in the bar) in the late evening more staff to shorten the queues
Location: went to a gig at the O2 Apollo 10 mins away
starting on the positive the queue to check in was shorter than the one to check out the staff were friendly it's just a shame that when one of our party arrived late the only food available at 10.30pm was on room service (not even a bag of crisps in the bar) - we got drinks and took them to the room but soon discovered there was very little on offer (sandwiches, curry or soup) and after waiting 5 mins for someone to pick up the phone we gave up and went out for a takeaway (probably cheaper in the long-run with sandwiches costing £8 plus a £5 'tray charge'). the next morning we queued for breakfast in the canteen (i use this word deliberately) - apparently it's harder to seat 3 people - despite coming after the 'peak time' as advised the luke warm coffee came quickly enough though my request for milk went unheeded - the food was ok we then only had to queue to check out and were finally out we won't be going back

Spa and Room Facilities

Posted 02-Nov-2015
Pros: The room and view were great. The Staff at Breakfast were really good and attentive.
Cons: Getting things right when contacting them for room facilities, and I cant understand why the Spa facilities are charged extra.
Location: Central Manchester location and an easy walk in to the city centre.
I may be picky here but I upgrade to a Panoramic Suite. The Room was great and the view was fantastic, 7th Floor over looking Piccadilly Train station. However we paid a lot for two nights and it took 3 phone calls to reception, a visit to reception, a call to Room service (who asked how we were going to pay) and speaking to the Cleaner over two days to get any Coffee pods for the coffee machine, that was sold as part of the upgrade room. So we had coffee on our final evening. I was also very surprised to find that the Spa Facilities were not available free. On second inspection it does say this on the website you are expected to pay £30 each for a sauna and steam session. We declined.

Pros: Fantastic room
Cons: Spa staff were not very helpful or welcoming
Came to stay for a couples weekend away in Manchester. Very nice hotel, just a shame about the service we received from the spa staff.

Handy for train station

Posted 28-Oct-2015
Pros: Location to station
Cons: Be more up front about charges
Hotel fine, staff friendly & helpful. Disappointed was asked for £30 per person to use spa facilities - nothing while booking to indicate this charge until booking completed on top of £19.50 charge for breakfast.

Was a good hotel but not anymore.

Posted 23-Oct-2015
Did not allow me to check in 1 hour early. Room cold all night. Rang room service twice but no one attended. Check out time stated on confirmation was 12pm noon. Someone from room service just walks in around 11am without knocking at infroms me that today check out is 11am and i need to empty the room asap. Not been infromed earlier or at time of check in. I paid £250 for 1 night. I expect better service and courtesy. Have used this hotel 3 times in the past but would not be using it again. Will use other hotels around city centre where the service is much better and for much less aswell.

Good hotel

Posted 22-Oct-2015
Location: Convenient for Piccadilly Station
Insufficient lifts for size of hotel and directions to Spa unclear. Otherwise no complaints. I had a comfortable night and good breakfast.

Good hotel next to Manchester Piccadilly station

Posted 18-Oct-2015
Pros: The bedrooms are very good
Cons: The breakfast and drinks in the bar were very expensive
Really large spacious room with an excellent bathroom and shower. No noise from the road or train station overall very good
