It’s only a 10-minute walk from the train station, which is great. But in all of my travels in 50 countries, this was the worst night’s sleep I’ve ever gotten. The noise all night long from the windows was horrendous. It sounded like the windows were wide open when they weren’t. The bed was also stiff and uncomfortable. The corridors are rundown/dirty, although the room was clean enough. If you’re wanting proximity to the train station, I would look elsewhere first if you are actually wanting to sleep. They have luggage storage for five pounds per room.

I'm giving 5 stars considering all the aspects: objectively, the structure and room condition wouldn't be a 5 because it's pretty old, the vent in the bathroom wasn't working, some stains on the wall and on the moquette, zero soundproofing. BUT, it was very clean, staff was polite and the price paid considering the very VERY central location makes of this hotel a very solid choice.

Bed was horrendous any slight movement and the bed was creeking, was worried it was going to break as it didn’t look in good condition. The mattress also wasn’t comfortable woke up with back ache and tired. Staff were nice and breakfast was good, but hotel rooms need major improvements especially beds, and more plugs especially next to the beds.

Basic but everything you need!
For the price it’s exactly what you would expect but compared to other budget hotels, this was one of the more comfortable ones I’ve stayed in. Location is obviously perfect and it just does the job but I would only say for a 1 or 2 night business trip or if you aren’t going to spend much time in the room. Very happy.

Great room, great find
Room was great - very spacious and luxurious. A complete gem of a find as on the outside it is nothing impressive, but I loved the room. Only downer was parking is not cheap in central Manchester

The hotel is a prime location for a visit to Manchester. Everything is in easy reach. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel is very clean and I would recommend staying here

Good but with major faults.
The hotel is in a good location for the city and the staff were friendly and helpful. But it is let down by the general codition of the room. Bathroom door would hit the toilet pedestal which itself was loose. The taps were near impossible to turn on and off, the floor in the bathroom and bedroom was dirty by the walls the worktop in bathroom was black with mould at one end.the wardrobe door would smash into the main door closer and the standard lamp would fall over if you moved the chair it was leaning against. Some general maintenance and cleaning is what is needed to bring this to an acceptable level.

What can I say after previously staying in this hotel and coming away happy what a total different story this time around we arrived after check in time to expect our room to be of the same standards has my previous stays however has we entered our room we was greated to a room rhat hadn't been cleaned dirty bedding piled up on the bed in a heap empty pizza boxes everywhere dirty bath towel on the floor used shower gel on the side of the bath I went down to reception to complain to which I was greeted to no apology just here's some more keys to another room to which when we entered wasn’t to the standard of the other it was very small out dated with still old light fittings over the wardrobe and in the bathroom that are now illegal certainly in need of a refurb like the previous rooms I've stayed when I questioned it I was told if I leave straight away I can have a refund not bloody good enough Just a pity that the lovely lady that was on reception last time I stayed who was very helpful and couldn't do enough for us wasn't on duty as I'm sure she would of done her best to sort the issue out in a correct manner and we would of got an apology You would think the rooms that are being rebooked out would be cleaned first on the I would of understood if we had tried to check in early

Great staff, but the shower was unusable.
The staff were lovely and the bedroom was clean, warm and comfortable. However the cardkey had a old-fashioned magnetic strip and it took many attempts before we could get the door to unlock. The shower mixer taps were terrible, it was impossible to get any usable temperature - either stone cold or boiling hot - impossible to shower under. Good location, but I would have liked a more secure entry system. anyone could easily walk in.

Staff were really friendly. The hotel and the rooms were clean. The location was perfect for the main shopping area and for us walking to the gig venue that we were in town for. There was also parking nearby too (we used the Q Park at Piccadilly Place). We were in a room to the front of the hotel so it was a bit noisy overnight though I would expect that in a busy city.

Hotel was surprising after going through the entrance. Fire alarm going off multiple time at 0240am wasn`t so pleasant though and no explanation from the staff, apart from on check out saying it was because of a client breaking a window !
