Never Ever Again
I had no toilet for the first 3 days !! I had no shower for the first 4 days and I didn't not have air conditioning for the last 4 days !! No one willing to help me or change my room !! Just because this is a cheap hotel does not mean I have to put up with these sort of conditions !! I'm appualed and I will never stay here again ! DISGUSTING!!!!!

Nice hotel close to centre of st Julian's
The hotel was clean modern and nice with friendly helpful staff. My only criticism is there are building works going on opposite the hotel which makes for a difficult nights sleep. However it is not something the hotel has control over so I can't justifiably mark them down over this. I would recommend this hotel, the dinner suggestions the gentlemen at the front desk organised for us were fantastic.

Good hotel, close to bay
It was an interesting experience finding the hotel at first, our cab driver dropped off us at the wrong hotel. Besides that it was comfortable, just be prepared if you're traveling with a friend to have your beds very close together haha.

The services is bad because we pay for double room and when we arrived to hotel they have just individual and small room .. Without option for change .. The services was very bad

Lovely clean hotel. Friendly staff. Good location if you are a tourist and want a central location. Building work opposite but not a problem just not the view we expected. Must admit it was very interesting watching work in progress and everyone trying to find a place to park. Parking is terrible. After we got back to the hotel late afternoon and eventually found a parking space we never moved the car again until after breakfast the next day. We just hope that no parking fines arrive in the post. The rooms vary in size, ours was large enough with a balcony but the shower room was really small.

Comfortable and quiet
Friendly modern clean hotel near the bay and myriad bars and restaurants. Room was quite large with a safe, fridge and kettle and very good air conditioning. Shower was also good. Staff very helpful. Breakfast was ok. Quite a range of food but mediocre quality. Our room was at the back, no view but nice and quiet. Bed was comfy enough. Only complaint was we asked for a double and got a twin but there were no guarantees on that anyway.

The room was extremely hot . The air conditioners only worked when the key was in the slot & they asked you to return your key when you were out so the room stayed warm

Good location but basic room
Really good location within walking distance of St julians restaurants and opposite bus stop which you can take to Valletta and to airport. However room itself was basic - there was a kettle however bring own tea/ coffee if required. Beds were not very comfy was too soft and well used - could feel the bedsprings and the carpets could do with a good clean aswell. The bathroom was the only thing that was refurbished with modern shower.

Good Bang for your money
The spinola hotel is located just steps from the major road with good access to transit. The hotel is in good condition, and the rooms were well kept. The true strength of this hotel is the staff. All the staff were helpful and pleasant. Specific thanks to Aliyana who made our stay enjoyable and helped us with many recommendations and directions. The only slight negative is the bar up the street gets quite noisy on the weekend, on the weekday it was fine. So if you are a light sleeper keep this in mind. The breakfast buffet is decent, with a good selection every morning. Would stay at again next time I am in Malta.

Good hotel with outstanding staff
My husband and stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, and our experience was really positive from the get go. Helena, the hostess, was really welcoming. The laundry service was impecable. The owner and manager were really helpful. We had a great time there.

The hotel is not clearly visible from the main road. Up the side of theHSBC bank. Value for money was excellent,staff were very helpful. Almost everything one wanted in walking distance.

It's a good hotel in the heart of St Julians. The staff are friendly and always ready to be of service with a smile. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable and the price is very reasonable.

Simple clean practical and nice.
Simple, clean and practical, as we like it. We had chosen it as we had meetings in the neighborhood and we were lucky to have a lovely terrace with the room. Staff friendly and flexible and even made breakfast earlier for us as we had to rush for the airport early.

Comfortable simple hotel, central location
Enjoyed our stay! A no frills hotel but location and Desk staff were the best. Always smiling, welcoming& offering assistance. Contacted them in advance via email, quick to respond & offer advice. The hotel is in a renovated older building up a side street off the main road, which makes the rooms quite as you don't hear the noise from the main street. Depends on room category you book but some of the rooms have decks, views of the neighbourhood not water but good to catch some sun& enjoy the fresh air w/a glass of wine. Breakfast is a small spread but had breads, meat, cheese, yogurt, fruit, easy to find something to start your day. There is no wifi in rooms only in lobby, worked fine for us but slow at night when other guests logging on. Location wise, the hotel is around the corner from the better restaurants, close to Hilton and 5 minute walk to the clubs and bars in Paceville. The bus stops at the foot of the street which is 2 euro to Valetta and Silemma Only complaint was the sheets, they were not long enough when sharing the bed, we ended up grabbing a blanket out of closet so one of us could use the blanket and the other the sheet. If you are looking for a hotel that provides many services/amenities this place is not a fit but if you want a comfortable, simple, clean, modern place that is located close to the action and at a great rate, then you will find value & be happy here.

Just got back from Spinola hotel,it is located in a really good postion right near bars and places to eat, but is is not noisy,booked a room with a balcony but when we got there we didn't have one, went to front desk and it was put right with no problems, the front desk people were all lovely helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and fresh, a couple of things that weren't so good, the hotel is still being refurbished so there is no bar or anywhere to sit if your not in your room, the breakfast is very basic continental with the same few items everyday, but overall a good stay and front desk staff made the stay delightful.

Great location with buses less than a minute away to all parts of the island. Hotel staff very knowledgeable with lots of suggestions about day trips, restaurants and swimming spots! Rooms very modern the a/c was a relief during the hot days.

Very impressed with hotel - very clean, fabulous, very helpful staff, excellent location, very handy to get around by public transport / on foot, etc. Just a note that you may get an internal room (with no windows), if you pick the cheapest price, as the executive rooms are the ones with balcony / view etc. Staff were very accommodating and we were able to change rooms within a day or so. Would recommend. Only downside - no pool, but arrangement with nearby hotel.

Great hotel for everybody!
Service was superb with a good breakfast friendly staff and clean comfortable rooms. Location wise St Julian is great, walking along the waterfront is lovely with plenty of places to eat, relax and swim. We used the local bus system to get around the island with a week bus pass there is a bus stop just down the road from the hotel which has buses that bring you pretty much anywhere, if you plan to go to a tourist location eg Valletta, Gozo or Comino get up a bit earlier to beat the rush as the buses are often full later. Had a great time!

The Spinola is a great hotel with lovely, friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is located only a 5 minute walk from St. Julien's Bay. The rooms are bright, modern and spotlessley clean! Although hotel is near a busy part of town, it's side road location made it very quiet. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Inexpensive, contemporary hotel in St. Julians
Perfect stay at this inexpensive, contemporary hotel. Substantial breakfasts included; minutes away from night clubs and beaches. Bus service just around the corner. Staff are friendly, down-to-earth and extremely helpful.

The Hotel Spilola
The hotel staff were polite and very professional at all times. They were very helpful in offering advise and assistance on shopping and travel advice. We chose this hotel on the reviews stating that this hotel had been refurbished. We were not disappointed with the quality of the refurbishment. Although it is in a popular area for holidaymakers the location is very quite. The room we stayed in was free from noise from the other occupants which was a big plus for us.

Very friendly hotel with a strong location
The staff were friendly from the very beginning, it's a small hotel so you connect on a personal level with the hotel staff who get to know you. Rooms looked good, and the bathrooms were very clean. Genuinely felt living in the heart of the city with the amount of restaurants just around the corner. A shop is open until 2:30am across the road so location was very good.
