Noisy
Friendly, small hotel with nice pool area. Unfortunately if you get placed in room 101 you will be on the ground floor, 1m away from the reception desk, and subject to all noise throughout the night as people come in and out of the entrance. There is absolutely no noise protection in this specific room, and could hear 100% noise and whoke conversations. Awake all night. Asked for a room change but was "fully booked". Room was clean. Bathroom was sufficient. Location was average.

Nice hotel & staff but no entertainment
Hotel staff were very helpful. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was continental and never changed each day but was enough variety. There was a pool area for those that need it. Air con was fantastic in 33C heat at the time Downside, the location was not ideal although we did find shops and takeaways 10 mins walk away. TV sound was very tinny with mainly Maltese channels to watch. This may not seem a big thing but with no hotel entertainment or anything to do locally, this meant once we got back to hotel we had nothing to do. Balcony door was hard to lock, so we were concerned that our room could be broken into. Also, staff wanted us to leave keys with them when we left hotel, and on 1 occasional we were given wrong key when we came back. We could have stole stuff from their hotel room, but also others could do that to us. That needs revising.

Value for money, small hotel, helpful staff.
This is a small hotel with helpful friendly staff which I liked. We had a broken shower door and were immediately moved to another room with no problems. There is a small swimming pool. Breakfast is continental. The town is a short walk away uphill to a large supermarket and other local shops selling essentials. Few restaurants to eat at. The description of what is available at the hotel is misleading. It’s says snackbar/deli/restaurant. This is not available. The photos also show the room has a mini kitchen/fridge. We were expecting this as per the photos. However when we arrived we found there was a pull down locked door over it. We had to pay a supplement to use it. As we wanted to cook in a few times we had to pay the supplement. We were however very grateful for the air conditioning which was included. Also a safe. The description needs to be updated by hotels.com to explain this. it is no reflection of the hotel at all. The description also says near a beach. This infers you can walk to it. The nearest beach is a 15 minute taxi ride to st Juliens. It is also about 20 minute taxi ride to valetta. Other places of interest are further away. You need to use a taxi or buses.

Very good stay and very helpful staff but difficult to lower air conditioning fan to blow at low enough level at night. Fan was always blowing cold air a little too powerful and the night was too warm to turn off A/C completely.

The staff were fantastic, friendly and concerned for your wellbeing, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is small with 24 rooms but its very well set up, super clean and organised. Rooms are well equipped and cleaned daily. Lots of choice for breakfast.

We had a very good stay here. Friendly staff, room was ready upon arrival. Super clean, modern, quiet, very well organised. Super clean. Accessible. Good breakfast. Unfortunately it was raining and we didn’t had the chance to swim in the pool. About 20 min to the airport. Close to Sliema and Valletta. Good transportation. Located in San Gwann which is mostly a residential area.

Where can I start...I guess we were able to sleep in there although loads of mosquitoes. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all, cold breakfast or stuff from Aldi, rooms are small and there’s a smell in the rooms, bathroom wasn’t clean. Make yourself a favour and stay in urban valley just down the road and it’s like five star hotel with 10€ extra and you’ll be amazed. Stay away from this hotel.

Basic hotel providing economic facilities
I was allocated a twin room on the ground floor next to reception. The room itself had two single beds, a safe FOC and a fridge which I paid for as an extra. There was a kitchen cabinet with a sink and two hobs but this was locked off and not offered as an extra. There was no kettle so I think the hotel should offer the use of the one in the restaurant to guests. As I said the room was next to reception and I could hear every conversation had which sometimes was even louder than the music I was listening to. I did ask to be moved to another room but was told there were none availed despite me hearing a couple of days later through my bedroom door an offer of another room to another guest. My bath towel was not changed for three days. Pleasant enough stay by myself but would not stay here with company.

The staff were very friendly. The room was O.K. but the Shower was so small that you could not bend to soap you feet and could not move without burning the arms with the hot water pipes/bars. There was no coffee, microwave in the room though they show it in the pictures. There is a locked cupboard in the room which we could not use. Very Disappointing! We had to pay to use the Refrigerator. There was no Lunch or Dinner as mentioned on their site. Free parking is on the narrow road outside the hotel. Breakfast was good!

Hotel kappara is a modern clean hotel. nice dining area and pool. We did have a couple of issues, My wife took her own sachets of facial wash and cleanser,that would last our 3 days of our stay. Opened and used them on the first day, left them to use again. When we came back to the hotel after our day out, the cleaner had been in and thrown the sachets away. I did mention this to the manager, to say she shouldn't be throwing away the guest personal things.The manager didnt seem that bothered. Although the over all cleanliness of the hotel was good, in our room the shower cubical and shower head needed renewing, also the hair dryer needs to be wiped over in between guest. we do have photos to back these two points up.

Great for a short stop and close to Luqa Airport.
Lovely clean hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast good. Easy to find and plenty of parking on street. Only downside is the beds were very uncomfortable.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Hotel is on a hill although bus stops are a few minutes away, it was easier to go to Mater Dei hospital (about 15 mns walk ) as there were many more buses from there going to all different places. Shower was a bit small and dated, but clean. Good choice of food for the continental breakfast.

very nice stop for a night.
the hotel overall was nice, the staff was great, and the room spacious and comfortable. such a good value for money. Best sleep I had in a week. For breakfast, you can sit inside or outside by the outdoor pool.you can also park outside in the street the local area is a bit away from night life but buses take you to the busiest part of the town.

Basic facilities but this is reflected in the cost per night. Best features are the friendly staff whilst the the not so good features are 1. the plastic cheese offered as part of the continental breakfast and 2. the shallow cups! Grazzi ghal kollox :-)

Terrible and noisy!
Room: We were given a room right next to reception which was so noisy we didn't sleep. There were conversations pass midnight and before 6 in the morning. This is unacceptable. If you have a room next to reception it needs to be sound proof! We hear every phone ring, check in/out and conversation between staff and/or customer. There was no point having a do not disturb sign as we were constantly disturbed. This room should not exist for guests. You have to leave your room key whenever you are out even for dinner. Bed:The sheets were dirty with stains. You can feel the springs in the bed. There was a strong bleach smell. There were no basic items like tv or kettle in the room. The only pro was plenty of parking. This is the worst hotel I have stayed at and we are frequent travellers. If you plan to sleep during your holiday don't book here.

Don't stay there unless you have to
If you like to stay at this Hotel there are certain things you should be aware of. So, don't go to this Hotel if you: - like to have a good and silent room where you can rest and sleep well. The Walls at this Hotel are like Paper! When you turn the light of it seems there are several people in your room. But in fact, that are only the guests from the rooms around. If you are lucky like me you have a "roommate" who is snoring the whole night. My bad I think! - you want to take a refreshing shower. In fact, there is a shower in the bathroom but the shower cabin is so small that you bump to the cabin walls every time you move your arms. Even this would not be a big issue in normal Hotels, but at Kappara the cabin is moldy. So, you feel dirtier after leaving the shower than before. Oh, did I mention the long brown hair, that definitely not belongs to me, in the tooth mug? - if you don't want to wake up with back pain because of a century year old mattress - if you think a good breakfast is a good start into the day. The breakfast is joke! But it's on you, the guest? Overall I think would have a better stay in every youth hostel, or a prison, or in a tent during a thunderstorm. I've been at a lot of places and even cheap motels like Motel 6 but the stay at Hotel Kappara was the worst experience ever! Was there for just two nights and got overall 4 Hours of sleep. Not because I was not tired, just because it was not possible to sleep.
