Well modernised hotel, centrally located.

Posted 17-Aug-2016
Pros: Spacious light and breezy layout.
Cons: No lift or offer of assistance to take luggage to the 2nd floor room. Room fridge never got cold as the electricity seems to shut off after you exit.
Location: Good location, one street back from the sea and perfect for the main drag of restaurants and cafés.
Junior suite was roomy and v. pleasant. Pool area attractive. Food looks nice but tastes very average at best. A lot of evening noise from loud p.a. system somewhere behind the hotel, seemingly addressing the very lowest grade of tourism - nasty and unacceptably loud. I would consider staying there again.

A nice Hotel close to the sea front and Restaurant

Posted 13-Jul-2016
Pros: We had a room facing the pool which we recommend to ask for. Hotel room was refurbished and rooms very clean with a nice shower and bath.
Cons: Help should be offered to guest for taking luggage to the rooms.
Location: Suggest a trip to Pollensa and Alcudia but be aware of pick pockets in Alcudia..
Received a friendly welcome and a glass of bubbly on arrival . On my wife's birthday a bottle of champagne and a fruit basket was left in our room. A very nice gesture and much appreciated.

2nd Visit - Even Better

Posted 30-Jun-2016
Pros: All of it.
Cons: Really difficult to think of anything without being too picky - maybe keep the spa open in the evening?
Location: Fantastic location near to Pine Walk.
This is our second visit (our 1st was on day 1 of opening as the new Mar Senses). The room was superb, the hotel facilities excellent (gym and spa although we didn't use the spa) and wonderful staff who couldn't do enough to help. We stayed half board and really enjoyed the menus (fresh whole scampi was delicious). The Restaurant Manager (Javier) and Hotel Manager (Álvaro) in particular were very helpful and professional (quality, customer service and genuine in their communication). All the staff, the facilities, location and overall quality of this hotel will no doubt ensure we re-visit a 3rd time.

Newly Refurbished hotel, very nice comfortable rooms, pleasant staff, quiet, perfect to relax and enjoy the holiday. Puerto Pollensa is a wonderful, beautiful town with great beaches, bars, restaurants to relax in. We would highly recommend the hotel and will be back!

Max tre nätter, stelt och inte god mat.

Posted 17-May-2016 on Hotels

New / Refurbished Hotel

Posted 12-May-2016
Pros: The quality of the improvements, quality of the rooms, pool and general areas are excellent.
Cons: Maybe should have delayed opening for a couple of weeks?
Location: The location is superb, close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Puerto Pollensa is a wonderful venue.
Arrived on day 1 of opening after significant new building and refurbishment. Gym and Spa was not complete nor were some of the rooms. The heating system did not work. We were offered an alternative hotel by the manager (who was excellent) but decided to remain and glad we did. The changes to this hotel will be first class (it used to be the Oro Playa Hotel) but at the time of our arrival it was not completed. The quality of the rooms, pool area, restaurant and the soon to be built Gym, spa and junior suites will be excellent. I would give this hotel a couple of weeks to be completed after which it will become a very popular hotel in the area of Puerto Pollensa. The manager, restaurant manager, waiter and life guard all had first class customer care and did everything they could to improve our stay.

Nice decor, not for self caterers

Posted 30-Sep-2015 on Hotels
You need to have a superior room here as the decor is much better, good furniture, comfortable bed but it's still not practical for self catering (no cooking utensils or anything to wash up with). The cleaning is fine when it's done but that isn't often enough in my opinion. Location is good. Go for a high room with mountain views. We booked late and got what we paid for but it wouldn't be our first choice.

Nice hotel with a few things to improve

Posted 28-Sep-2015
Pros: See above
Cons: See above
Location: 5 mins away from the beach, plenty of restaurants nearby, a supermarket 5 mins away as well (all walking distance).
Good experience with friendly staff. Good for families (travelled with 6-months old baby). Even though we were on the ground floor, we still had to lift the buggy up some stairs (which I think should be made easier for people who have buggies or are in pushchairs maybe). Entertainment every evening finishing at 10pm. Could hire baby related stuff such as a jumparoo, baby bath, steriliser, etc. Pool seemed a bit cold for baby to swim in but some parents still let their kids go in it (so that's at the parents' preference). The superior one-bedroom was ok for us. There was a kettle, microwave (good for sterilising bottles!), pans, plates, etc. There were a few (blood) stains on the bed sheets, bath mat and curtains so that's one thing that needs to be looked at by staff... Cleaning was carried out every day although it was quite limited (consisted in changing the towels from time to time).
