The hotel is very modern and comfortable very close to two beaches, the reception area was clean and very relaxing, the pool ( a bit small for three teens, but great for cooling off, and with the beach so close sufficient) area was also modern and landscaped. The restaurant next door offered good reasonably priced food with more friendly service.
Alpino Hotel was a 5 min walk down a steep road from the bus stop. 1-10 min walk for ferries, cable car, town & swimming area. Staff were very pleasant. Room & bathroom were a good size. Air-con very good. WiFi in the room, but a little intermittent. Buffet breakfast was good. Restaurant was good value & gave 10% off. We ate there most evenings.

We loved our stay here. I read reviews before we booked and they were pretty spot on.
I paid a little bit extra to get a lake view and boy, was it worth it! We had a small unimpressive room with frankly ugly furniture but I didn't care a jot because there was a beautiful picture window opening onto a spacious balcony with your own loungers and table and chairs, looking out over a spectacular view. It was just so lovely to get up in a morning and throw the windows open to gaze out. And we got the evening sunshine so we would sit out there before going into dinner.
The pool is fantastic. The service was lovely. Personally I don't think the photos on the site do the place justice. The public areas are smart and chic. Food was well presented and tasty. If you have more money to splash around I glimpsed some very posh rooms. The weather in May was perfect. The mountain scenery and walking is amazing. Malcesine itself is really pretty. In my view, the prettiest place on the lake. The walk from the hotel is short and picturesque. Yes there are lots of steps down to the front, over a hundred. But we managed and it helped to burn off some of the gelato calories!
Just time your journey carefully. You get a bus from the airport to the railway. Then a bus runs to Malcesine. However, due to flight delays we missed the last one at 18.45. We got the bus to Garda but then needed a taxi to get to Malcesine. Its a fair way and it cost a bit over £50. The bus would have been 5 euros each.

We stayed at the Hotel Dolomiti for my sisters wedding. We stayed for four nights and utilised the hotels transfer facility. The transfers were perfect, as arranged both legs of our journey. The hotel was basic but absolutely perfect for the price range. The location of the hotel is ideal for anyone visiting the area to explore or like us at a wedding at the castle or both. My Future Beother in Law intends to marry in the same place and we absolutely plan to use this hotel again. Great value and location with very friendly staff

Very Odd A/C Policy where the minimum temperature is 24.5oC and only to be used from 7pm till 8am, this took us' some time to decipher this which resulted in us' sleeping with the balcony doors open. Ironing Board is located in the basement of the hotel. If you leave the balcony door open there's a lot of Traffic which mostly consists of Mopeds and motorbikes.
Lovely small family run hotel which was full but not crowded. Staff all very friendly from reception to maids to breakfast. Waiter even remembered each tables different requests. Lovely breakfast either inside or outside overlooking the picturesque gardens.
Comfortable room with everything expected and balcony with mountain views.
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would stay here again.

"Very good hotel, though a bit far from the centre."
In all, this was a very good place for us to stay (myself, my wife & 14-year-old son). Our room and balcony had a great view across the lake to the mountains on the other side. The fact that the room included a fridge and some cooking facilities gave more flexibility, especially in the mornings. We were travelling Italy with a hired car, so the hotel's free underground garage was a valuable asset. And my wife spent some happy hours in the hotel's outdoor swimming pool. Malcesine is an excellent centre from which to explore Lake Garda by car. Also try the boat trip across to Limone. And definitely don't miss the astounding views and Alpine meadows at Malcesine's highest cable-car terminal. The only drawback was that the town centre was about 3 kilometres along the coast from the hotel. We walked it a couple of times (which would usually be our preference)… but later found it more convenient and less time-consuming to go by car. The atmosphere in the town centre was pleasant and the service at the many restaurants was (typically for Northern italy) friendly and helpful.

On the eastern shore of Lake Garda, Malcesine has been a popular tourist destination since Roman times. Today, it bustles with life as cafés, bars, restaurants, and boutiques line the narrow, cobbled streets that lead to a picturesque harbor. Hiking trails nearby provide splendid views of the area's flora and fauna, as well as of the lake and Alps. Sailing and windsurfing are also popular activities.
