My brother and I are travelling through Europe on a budget and needed a stop over at lake Garda. We parked right outside and were warmly welcomed in perfect English.
The bar and restaurant is great, well run with great food.
Rooms are basic, but clean, with everything needed. Likewise the included in the price breakfast was basic but had everything to set you up for the day.
If you are looking for budget and function the Alpino is spot on add in friendly family run, great food, great location, it's a winner.

Lovely hotel run by a lovely family. All staff were extremely helpful and made our stay even better, from our email contact beforehand giving advice on our transfer to their personal touch during our stay with advice about the area to helping us with our daily needs. The hotel has good facilities in a good location on the lake. The Tourist Bus was a great addition that stopped outside the hotel every hour to get to Malcesine with ease, but it's a nice walk in around the lake also. We'll definitely stay again one day!

We had a very relaxing & enjoyable stay.
It should be noted that if you are a light sleeper you may be disturbed by the weir, but that drowns out the passing traffic on the main road. You don't hear it after a while and it helps keep the air cool on those lovely hot summer days!
Upon arrival we were greeted with a complimentary drink and our bags taken to our room which was amazing, the staff were really friendly and nothing to much trouble for them. The facilities were great and the heated pool was just perfect. A wonderful quiet place to relax in with superb views of Lake Garda. Our room was beautiful and very clean with excellent service.

The hotel was quiet, pretty efficient, reasonably roomy rooms and a good breakfast. Plenty of room to park, which can be difficult in these parts, and it has a lovely garden. All in all good value for money and it delivers.
We loved our stay here. I read reviews before we booked and they were pretty spot on.
I paid a little bit extra to get a lake view and boy, was it worth it! We had a small unimpressive room with frankly ugly furniture but I didn't care a jot because there was a beautiful picture window opening onto a spacious balcony with your own loungers and table and chairs, looking out over a spectacular view. It was just so lovely to get up in a morning and throw the windows open to gaze out. And we got the evening sunshine so we would sit out there before going into dinner.
The pool is fantastic. The service was lovely. Personally I don't think the photos on the site do the place justice. The public areas are smart and chic. Food was well presented and tasty. If you have more money to splash around I glimpsed some very posh rooms. The weather in May was perfect. The mountain scenery and walking is amazing. Malcesine itself is really pretty. In my view, the prettiest place on the lake. The walk from the hotel is short and picturesque. Yes there are lots of steps down to the front, over a hundred. But we managed and it helped to burn off some of the gelato calories!
Just time your journey carefully. You get a bus from the airport to the railway. Then a bus runs to Malcesine. However, due to flight delays we missed the last one at 18.45. We got the bus to Garda but then needed a taxi to get to Malcesine. Its a fair way and it cost a bit over £50. The bus would have been 5 euros each.

On the eastern shore of Lake Garda, Malcesine has been a popular tourist destination since Roman times. Today, it bustles with life as cafés, bars, restaurants, and boutiques line the narrow, cobbled streets that lead to a picturesque harbor. Hiking trails nearby provide splendid views of the area's flora and fauna, as well as of the lake and Alps. Sailing and windsurfing are also popular activities.
