Breakfast and Hotel deserves more than two stars. I gave four stars because room 106 has no view, very dark. Otherwise 5 stars.

The Hotel Sur Malaga was wonderful! The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and inviting and it was close to walk everywhere.

Great location, eateries on the doorstep. Staff friendly , hotel clean and tidy. Good Aircon, breakfast varied and tasty. Easy walk to port and shops. Brilliant hotel for a short stay , you may want more if staying longer such as coffee facilities in room , view , bar area. We would definitely return though .

The only problem is what they use under the bottom sheet . It was like plastic bags sound every time you moved was not good and makes you hot and sweaty.they shouod find anotheroption.

A nice hotel conveniently located in the Centre
Hotel was in convenient location to centre and marina. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was large and very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and the staff were very quick and fast in replenishing items. Would stay here again.

Hotel of choice in this immediate area
This hotel was the best in the immediate area and I stayed in a few. Great service and did everything for me. Room was clean and comfortable. The price was amazing for what you got. Definitely my go to hotel in this immediate area and would gladly return.

Nice, clean inexpensive place to stay in Soho area of Malaga. Easy walk to everywhere in Malaga. 15 walk to the train station.

We arrived at 2pm, after a crazy morning of travel and missing our bus from Granada. After a quick check in, we ran to our room to freshen up and get ready to explore. It was a stressful morning so I turned music on on my IPhone. 20 minutes later I go outside to meet my group, and the front desk asked me to be more quiet in the room. I was so appalled by this. I would have understood if it were from a speaker but it was not... The rooms were the smallest rooms we had stayed in in Europe.... When I bent down in the bathroom sink to wash my face, m back end hit the wall so I could not even do so... There is no way to come back to your hotel room with the AC awaiting you, because the key is required. The beds were also not comfortable... On the morning we left, we had to leave at 6:30 am. The guy at the front desk came up to tell us at 6 AM that we were being too loud, when we were all not happy to be awake at that hour, and were not even talking to each other. If you like a hotel with no space, where you are not able to speak, this would be your best fit..

Staff are amazing, cant do enough, really helpful. Location fantastic by Calle Larios, Muelle Uno and all facilities. Hotel has a lift, great when you have a disability. Great walk in shower. Lovely restaurant outside and Bella Julietta for coffee/smoothies etc. Great value for 3 adults in one room. We will definately return. Muchos gracias 🙂

Good for friends, not for couples!
Our second stay at Hotel Sur, and sadly we won't return again for the simple reason that the (very nicely) refurbished rooms are all twin beds. This was particularly disappointing since I always request a double bed when booking.

It is a basic but very clean and quiet hotel, with very helpful desk staff, and it is close to the main sights in the old city centre, the port/beach area and a two-minute walk to the tourist office and the airport bus stop.

You will regret it. We did.
The Hotel Sur was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in and the people running it are a shocker. 1. The room was tiny, dark and dingy and reeked of dampness. 2. There was the constant sound of jackhammers outside our room. We could not rest after arriving for that reason and for a couple in their 70's it was a hardship. 3 The bathroom was dirty and the towels were thin and smelled musty. The shower was in the bath which was extremely slippery and the sticking shower curtain didn't help. The exhaust fan didn't work and there was no window, 4. The beds were hard and the pillows were completely flat. We had to use clothing from our cases to raise our heads. 5. In the morning we fled the awful place, but then I found that I had left my jacket in the room, it was one of the pieces of clothing I was using for a pillow. I got in touch with the hotel as soon as we got home to Ireland. They told me I could have my jacket back if I gave them 50 euros. I told them it would cost less than 10 euros to post it (I had checked this with the Post Office). The Hotel Sur said they do not use the postal service and I would have to give them 50 euros or come back to Spain and get the jacket myself. So...after a couple of months and a lot of emails back and forth, I still have no jacket. This has been very stressful for me but I will not pay their ransom money to get my jacket back. DO NOT GO TO THE HOTEL SUR.....YOU WILL REGRET IT....I CERTAINLY HAVE!

Value for money and a very good location.
Hotel Sur has everything we need at a reasonable price and is in a very convenient location, near enough to the bus and railway stations for us to walk and just across the road from Calle Larios. When we stay overnight in Málaga we always stay here if we can. What better recommendation can I give?
