Pay a little more for a better place
Check in went fine, but the people behind the desk all seemed miserable. Hotel was dated. Room, while i selected a single, was small indeed. Bathroom had rust and stained caulk and looked like it was from the 70's. Shower water pressure was awesome though, which is a pet peeve of mine. It's on a busy avenue close to the downtown bus stops and train station, but nothing else of value nearby. Breakfast buffet had very very few items on it, and is part of a bigger cafeteria. Puzzling at first. Seems you can't order off any menu like locals can...the server told me "you use the buffet" when i gave him my room number. I took it to mean anything else would come at a cost. Not sure...didn't ask. There don't seem to be a lot of choices in Malaga...but this was just average.

Fine - great location.
Think maybe we stayed pre refurbishing as certainly a little tatty, but comfortable enough for price. Could maybe do without the penicillin type, fungus pictures around the place. Food was fair/good for the price.And location superb for all the main sight-seeing, walking distance. Staff were friendly.

Excellent location. The bus from the airport stopped right outside the hotel. Hotel was close to everything we wanted to see. Hotel was great and staff friendly .

It was a very pleasant stay the property is tired in places but the staff are lovely the waiter remembered us from last year and the year before.

Real bargain
This is a bargain hotel and must be judged accordingly. It was really clean and friendly and could not have been better located. Good shower and pleasant room. There is a cafeteria attached and just a few paces from hotel is a lovely breakfast place with freshly squeezed juice and excellent coffee.

Great location
Old fashioned hotel style.Great location close to old town and port and walk to beach. Good sized room. Helpful front desk organising taxis etc. No tea coffee facilities and fairly basic room .

Nice, but dated, hotel in the center of Malaga.
I was pleased with this hotel, but not all that impressed. Honestly, I think next time I would spend a little more and stay in a newer hotel.

Great location close to all amenities. Would definitely stay again. We only stayed one night so it served its purpose for us. We stayed half-board but there are loads of restaurants around to choose from. Excellent staff no complaints at all.

The rooms were very spacious and it was in an ideal position for exploring the City. The main road however was being upgraded but it will be even better when it is finished.

The location was superb! My only caution was the road work being done outside the hotel is less than glamorous but otherwise the hotel met all my expectations. Staff were friendly, price was reasonable, rooms were clean and quiet, location excellent. What more could one ask for?

Great experience with Hotel Venecia in Malaga :) The location is fantastic and the staff and accommodations are welcoming. Word of advise - the hotel offers discounted parking tickets with "Plaza de la Marina", a public parking right across the street. While it is very close and for a good price, the ramp into the parking is VERY NARROW. I would advise asking the hotel staff if there is a different entrance into that parking...

A great time in Malaga
It was good to be able to stay right in the centre and therefore able to walk to everything - shops, restaurants, port, beach and park. The hotel was comfortable - just the right temperature. We also enjoyed being able to go for trips by bus and train, as the hotel is near the port bus station and the Alameda train station.

It’s cheap for a reason, the hotel needs a major upgrade and modernisation. The rooms are so basic there isn’t even a kettle or bottled water. The water pressure is non existent and the walls are so thin you can hear next door flick a switch. All areas are tired and threadbare. The hotel had 2 redeeming features, location and the staff. The road outside is a mess at the moment so that’s noisy also. It’s major work and I doubt it will be finished soon. That aside the location is great. The staff are super helpful and it was a pleasure to meet them. The cafe in the hotel is very cheap and it’s ok for a snack and a drink although I wouldn’t recommend the breakfast. I was told I had a room with a balcony. It wasn’t really. It was an odd angle with an interior view of a service area and a soil stack, very unpleasant. I wouldn’t stay again but if you’re after a cheap bed and that’s all you need, not a bad option.

Basic accommodations with minimal amenities. Mini refrigerator in room did not stay cool sufficiently. Walls were thin and you could hear many neighbors and people in the hallways. Close walking distance to many shops and restaurants, as well as convenient walking distance to buses for the Airport and main train station.

Airport bus stops literally steps from the hotel entrance. Location is perfect, across the street from Larios. Breakfast was good. Staff was helpful with directions, tips, transport, etc. Would be nice if the TV had some english channels. Be careful with the balcony doors as they can lock/latch behind you when closed. We got locked out at around 11 PM and had to scream at passers-by to come help us. Our fault, not the hotel.

Great location
Good basic hotel in excellent location in the centre of Malaga. Easy walking distance to all the sights. Clean room - reasonable size - and bathroom, comfortable bed. Only downside was that when we were there they were digging up the road in front of the hotel making it difficult to find the way in if you were driving. No noise from that as we were looking out to the side of the hotel.

Solid 3 star hotel in excellent location
Excellent location in the centre of Malaga. Easy walk to Picasso Museum, port area, other museums and attractions. Also very handy for loads of bars,restaurants, cafes. Hotel reception very helpful and friendly. Hotel is ideal for the airport bus. About 3 mins walk from the bus stop. (Bus is a flat fare 3 euros pay the driver). My room was small with a window on a back courtyard, this meant it was very quiet for sleeping. Buffet breakfast though not extensive was adequate with good coffee. I found the hotel nothing fancy but great for a weekend break in Malaga. It is certainly a good place for a short break with loads of attractions and good art galleries. ( I took a bus 1.30 euros to the Russian art gallery in an old tobacco factory which was stunning.) Also visited Picasso Museum, Pompidou Centre on the front, and the Contemporary Art Museum.
