The beautiful, exceptional country house with a historic stone limestone facade made of shell limestone - a barn built around 1890 and completely renovated a few years ago according to design and ecological (solar thermal-supported pellet heating; electricity from your own roof) and completely renovated - is suitable for large groups up to 14 people, but also for small groups, couples or single travelers who are looking for a special holiday apartment in Mainz. The furnishings are elegant, bright and complete, but so reduced (without “knick-knacks”) that our guests have space to develop - according to the design feature “less is more”. Exactly how we like it ourselves.

Good location, kitchen underequipped, attached unit night noise problems
Neighborhood in Mainz was delightful! Sleeping arrangements as advertised - two bedrooms which sleep 2 each on 2nd floor, and one bedroom with other beds/futons on top floor. Kitchen was a bit underequipped compared to our other European VRBO experiences - no vegetable peeler, no saucepans smaller than multiple gallon, very minimal spices. Kitchen not really equipped to cook. Backyard is NOT AS ADVERTISED - overgrown and unkempt waist high grass made it unusable except patio and table directly outside back door. And you share a wall with tenants (not renters), who were using outdoor table right outside kitchen window without explanation. On last night, had to ask tenants to turn down bumping party music after 11pm.

Welcoming and Charming
This was our first stay in Germany and we were very happy with the location. Igno was wonderful upon greeting us, making sure we had everything needed, he was even willing to help us with getting travel for our group of 7 when we were unable to speak the language (he actually stopped eating dinner with his family to assist!!). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and thank Igno for his hospitality.

Sehr schönes Haus in toller Lage - höflicher und freundlicher Vermieter, sehr gute Kommunikation
Wir mussten wegen eines Wasserschadens in unserer Wohnung leider sehr kurzfristig für mehrere Wochen umsiedeln und der Vermieter (Herr Fischer) war hier wirklich sehr hilfsbereit und hat dies für uns ebenso kurzfristig und unkompliziert gestalten können! Er hat sich Mühe gegeben und der Kontakt und die Kommunikation waren stets sehr höflich, freundlich und angenehm. Das Haus ist ohne Schnickschnack, aber sehr schön sowie geschmackvoll eingerichtet und vor allem auch sehr sauber und ordentlich. Wir hatten alles, was wir brauchten und konnten uns so schnell wohl und wie zu Hause fühlen. Das Haus ist sehr schön gelegen und auch gut angebunden. Supermärkte, Metzger und ein wirklich guter Bäcker sind alle fußläufig erreichbar. Herzlichen Dank für die gute Zeit in Ihrem schönen Haus, Herr Fischer!

Schönes Haus in Stadtnähe
Wir reisten mit einer Gruppe von 8 Leuten an und wurden (auch zu späterer Uhrzeit) persönlich vom Vermieter empfangen. Dieser war stets freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben das Haus genauso wie in den Bildern vorgefunden. Positiv anzumerken sind die gute, wenn auch zweckmäßige, Ausstattung sowie die Sauberkeit. Diese Unterkunft bietet sich auch aufgrund der zahlreichen Schlafmöglichkeiten durchaus für eine größere Gruppe an. Bendenken sollte man hierbei allerdings, dass nur ein Bad vorhanden ist. Des weiteren sind die vorgegeben Nutzungszeiten für den Garten natürlich etwas ärgerlich und sollten vorher bedacht werden. Die Lage ist super und bildet einen guten Startpunkt für ausgiebige Wanderungen. Bäcker und Supermarkt sind schnell zu Fuß zu erreichen. Das Stadtzentrum ist zudem per Bus in gut 10 Minuten erreichbar. Empfehlenswert!

Nicht für Gruppen geeignet
Durch eine Verordnung der Stadt Mainz durfte der Garten nicht genutzt werden. Der Hinweis erfolgte 2 Tage vor Anreise, was für eine größere Personengruppe (14 Personen) sehr kurzfristig ist, zumal die Stornofrist über fewo bereits abgelaufen war. Der Gastgeber hat sich bemüht, Kompromisse zu finden - für den angebotenen Preis und die eingeschränkten Nutzungsmöglichkeiten würde ich die Unterkunft nicht empfehlen. Der Gastgeber/Nachbar kam während des Aufenthalts mehrmals rüber, um uns auf weitere Beschränkungen/Hausregeln aufmerksam zu machen, sodass man seinen Aufenthalt nicht unbeschwert genießen konnte (wir haben peinlich genau auf die Ruhezeiten geachtet). In der Kommunikation wurde mehrmals darauf hingewiesen, eine möglichst faire und gnädige Bewertung abzugeben, trotz - oder gerade wegen - der kurzfristig „angepassten Umstände“. Das Haus und die Lage sind schön, wenn man sich darauf einlässt, den Außenbereich/Garten nicht bzw. Nur eingeschränkt zu nutzen und zusätzlich in Kauf nimmt, mit dem Gastgeber auf einem Grundstück zu wohnen.

Kleines Ferienhaus gut fürs WE
Praktisches Haus um Mainz und andere Orte zu erkunden. Sauber und stilvoll eingerichtet. Manko: nur ein Bad, was bei 11 Leuten dann auch mal dauern kann. Extra Gebühr für Parkplatz, was beim Mietpreis durchaus überraschend war. Gemeinsame Gartennutzung mit dem Eigentümer, wir waren dann mal weg
