"WE had to make an emergency stay at the last moment. Pleasantly surprised at how beautiful Tropis is. The grounds were beautful. The rooms were very nce and the Staff was extremely courteous. Speaking English to guide us through an already frustrating day. The price per night may be a bit on the high-end, but absolutely worth every penny!"

"I cannot say enough about this hotel and the family that owns it and operates it. It is truly a full family operation so it works like a well oiled machine. They are friendly. They speak English German Italian. They will accommodate you with whatever you need. The location is perfect getting to all of the surrounding areas the restaurant included with the hotel is wonderful great food everything is homemade and grown fresh and local. We cannot say enough about this hotel, and I will definitely be visiting again I highly recommend the boat cruise that they will offer you and we actually ate dinner in the hotel every night fresh local food. "

"Beautiful location, great property but not easy to get to. Staff and services could sometimes be puzzling from excellent to almost non existent especially at breakfasts service. But, overall highly recommend. "

"The property itself is gorgeous. The only downsides are 1. food on resort is a bit of a miss (not enough simple, local dishes in favor of fancy over-the-top dishes ) although breakfast was lovely and 2 you have to have a car to get to Tropea as the resort is isolated and there is not much to do in terms of activities or entertainment. If the weather is nice, you are in for a treat because their beach staff is impeccable and their grounds are breathtaking."

"Popilia was an incredible place to stay. Eveything about the resort is amazing. The staff is incredibly friendly and was always very helpful. The rooms are comfortable and immaculately kept. The grounds are also meticulously maintianed. The pools is huge and makes you feel like you are in the Caribbean. The restaurant is also very good. If i had to give one criticism it would be to have a wider selection of food options for lunch or dinner. Otherwise 10 out of 10!!"

"The hotel is okay for a quick overnight in an area with limited hotel availability. I did not like the location of my single room (right off the lobby where men were smoking cigars and congregating). The very sweet receptionist changed our rooms three times due to cleanliness issues and beds were unmade in one room. We ate in the hotel dining room where a traveling soccer team was also staying. The menu was only in Italian and stuff did not speak English but a nice man next to us helped explain the menu and I had a very good regional dish. Dining room and menu is very basic. Breakfast only okay. "
