Oldie but a goodie
Yes, this hotel is in desperate need of a refurbishment.... but dont let that stop you from staying there! This was, by far, the most comfortable bed i have slept on in the whole of Thailand!!!! The rooms are big, bathrooms are ok but a little dark, need a few more lights. Big plus is the fact that the big shopping mall, Robinsons, is just across the road. Also, breakfast was really good! You know how you are disappointed every time you get a croissant at a breakfast buffet because once you bite into it, its immediately apparent that its been sitting there for 10 years... not at this hotel! I bit into the most fresh, flaky, soft and warm croissant ive had in Thailand in weeks. I'd stay here again just for the breakfast and the bed!!!

An Excellent Value
My wife and I have stayed in many Thai hotels over the years. We booked a two night stay while exploring the Mae Sot region The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was large and quite comfortable. The hotel has a lot of character and is reminiscent of luxury travel in days of yore through Thailand, yet at a price that will not bust your budget. They serve a very good breakfast and the Asian dishes in particular are excellent. We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked a third night.

Best hotel in the area I guess
But honestly the hotel really should invest some money in maintenance. The rooms are very old and not good maintained. However, I always stay here because it is the best hotel I could find in this area. Usually I only stay 1 or 2 days. The breakfast and dinning is very good and never disappointed me.

Awesome staff but very dated
I'm sure this hotel was once the jewel but it's very dated now. The staff were awesome from the moment we turned up taking bags to the room etc. I know with Covid it's quiet but this hotel needs a lot of updating to get back what you would expect for the price that's being charged

During Corona pandemic. Staff was amazing. Unfortunately, there was no restaurant or coffee shop available. Comfy bed. A little high price considering loss of services.

Time for some remodeling!
Repeat visit to Mae Sot. Centara is an older hotel which is overdue for remodeling. Service is very nice and friendly. Breakfast very good with lots of choices.

Mae Sot is small city but Centara is only one standard hotel. It has all facilities eg.swimming pool, fitness center. Overall is good and safe hotel in small city.

Older hotel, but nice, considering that Mae Sot is far off the beaten path. Shower could be better. Very friendly and helpful staff. Location in town is good. Easy to find as you come in on Hwy.12, and located right across the street from Robinson.

Wouldn't stay there again.
This place is not nearly as nice as the pictures. To be fair, I don't know if there is anywhere better to stay in Mae Sot - it's quite a small city. That being said, the hotel looks like it had its heyday in the early 80's. it's quite rundown. We could clearly hear every sound coming from the next room over - down to the quietest sniffle. If I ever return to Mae Sot, I'll do my best to find a better alternative. Condition aside, the staff was very attentive, polite, and helpful.

Love the staff and the pool.
I love the swimming pool and the staff they are kind and gracious. The sink, tub, and fitness center are in need of upgrading but overall, it is a very fine place to stay in up-country Thailand.

A very good place to stay when in Mae Sot.
A nice property that is conveniently located to shopping, restaurants and a short distance to freedom bridge to Myanmar. Small but satisfying breakfast buffet. Well keep grounds, pool and tennis courts. Would difinitely stay there again.

Great Hotel location
Staff is exceptional! Rode in and given priority parking since we came in on motorcycles. During check-in we were given a refreshment that was wonderful! Can't say thing was bad about experience.

The Best of all Possible Worlds
I planned to visit friends in Mae Sot but got sick immediately upon arrival. At the end of the second day the desk manager asked me where I had been. When I told her that I was sick, she brought a beautiful tray of fruit, juice and granola. Everybody was so kind, polite and helpful. The hotel is in a beautiful natural setting off the main highway leading to the airport. Just across the highway is a new shopping center with a department store, grocery, cinema and multiple restaurants so you get the best of all possible worlds.

Dissatisfied One Night Stay
Bad services given to hotel guests as hotel would like to charge us for our 2 little guests aged 5 and 7 to swim in their pool. Hotel allows outsiders to swim in their small pool with limited sheltered lounge beds and chairs, and thus having an overcrowding and noisy pool. Hotel has very low rate of occupancy so probably they need to open up to public to drum in more business. Since they open up the pool to public meaning they are actually compromising hotel guests pleasure at pool leaving guests to deal with not enough chairs and space to swim about and lastly having a marketplace swimming pool. Without taking that aspect into consideration, hotel insisted I must pay to let my 2 little guests swim in their pool. I believe whether it is a big hotel establishment or little inn, hotel could in fact gives 2 complimentary passes for paying room guests (my room booking is for 2 people) to bring their guests just to dip in their pool. It is not about how much the charges to swim.It is more about they way hotel operates as they would rather offend their hotel guest in the smallest ways than to leave a good impression. By the way because hotel allows the pool to be used by outsiders with a min fee, it is definitely defeat the purpose of having A ROOM THERE WITH POOL VIEW. Thank you.

Staff very helpful and not to be faulted but Managment of this Hotel not up to standard expected of Centara. Pool broken when we arrived but Staff not authorised to give any compensation for this, it wasn't in swim able condition for 6 days. Water in shower took 15 minutes to heat to a tepid temperature. Emailing Management about Pool and water did not result in a reply. There is no running track as supposed from website and 'Superior' room as advertised on their website is actually the Standard room. Views lovely.

A decent enough escape from dusty Mae Sot
I was able to use orbucks to stay here one night and for that I certainly cannot complain! Nice pool in a slightly older 4 star hotel. Your normal basic 4 star stuff. Don't know if I would have stayed here if I had had to pay. No charm but totally functional and good free breakfast!

First Stay with Centara
We arrived at the front desk without a copy of reservations which was left in another bag in Bangkok. However, the staff at the front desk was very efficient and found the record. After being assigned room 215 we proceeded to it. After about 2 minutes someone from the front desk came up to assist. Because the a/c was off the room was hot as it faced the afternoon sun. The staff person left and my companion retuned saying the pool was in the other wing of the building. He suggested we ask if we might switch to be closer to the pool and out of the afternoon sun. We locked the room and went to the front desk who switched us to 236. All this took maybe 10 minutes. As we got to the second floor I noticed our room door was open, Asked my companion if he had locked the door? His reply was "yes" and showed me the key. As i entered the room I found the a cleaning staff woman laying on the bed going thru my billfold that had been left lying on the bed with my backpak. Startled by my presence she jumps up and says "the billfold was left out on the bed". To which I replied, "why are you even in the room. We just checked in?" She then picks up the phone and called someone and exits the room. Both of us were stunned. We took both keys down to the front desk and asked for a key to the room safe. So, the staff was very good, a/c never did cool the room and we had to keep our passports / money with us. Not a good experience.
