The hotel was nice as well as the hotel's staff. It is located in the middle of the historical center, walking distance to everywhere is very convenient. Also, the subway station Aston Martin is a few steps away. I had a small problem in my room but it was fixed the same day which, by the way, was Sunday. Custodial people did their job very well. The hotel offers a breakfast as an option but the breakfast is same from day to day and, for me, could be better. For example, there are many Spain sweets available just on street but nothing like this is served in the hotel. Also, the selection of hot dishes was limited though the bacon was excellent and not over roasted as in US hotels. Another issue is no parking so this hotel is for those who likes to walk. Bottom line - this is very decent place to stay, I can definitely recommend it.

Convenient location and nice cleaning staff but that’s where the positives ended. I would classify this as a 3 star hotel at best. Very confusing layout inside the hotel (not accessible and would not recommend for the elderly either) and both the doorman and reception was not helpful except for one nice lady with curly brown hair whose name I can’t recall. The cleaning staff was a lot more welcoming than the reception and greeted us kindly. They also knew how to find the rooms when the doorman did not- upon arrival, the doorman led me the wrong way with me pulling 2 suitcases and then said he didn’t know where the room was and just left. Was hoping it was just an issue with one doorman but every time we entered the hotel they just stared or ignored us completely- did not understand what their purpose was as the doors were automatic and they didn’t seem to serve any security role either. The soundproofing for the rooms is extremely poor- at 3am on our last night we were woken up by a drunk man in the hallway vs next door yelling and banging around for about half an hour. It is a convenient walk to restaurants, shops, and sightseeing locations nearby but there were also many other hotels in the same area that would’ve been a better experience.

There is a doorman that seems to be more of a security person. When we first arrived he looked at us suspiciously. Other doormen as well made us feel uncomfortable. The room was large but had few amenities. Location is a short walk to Plaza Mayor which is good. The lobby looks fancy in the ads and is PK, the room looked very different/outdated.

Great location, helpful staff.
Good location, 15 mins from the train station, close to shops, bars, restaurants, etc. Room was a good size, a very clean bathroom. Breakfast was vast, lots of hot and cold options, plus options for veggies. Staff were very helpful.

WARNING ON WATER TEMPERATURE
ROOM was basic at the end of an internal building. Def a 3 star hotel max. It was very clean though Major Problem: Shower went from boiling hot to freezing cold, burnt my face. It is definitely a major safety issue. Room should not be rented under said circumstances , DANGEROUS !!

Very nice hotel. Renovated recently, which was nice. The shower needs some work, just seemed as though the shower head itself may have been left behind during the renos. Otherwise a great hotel. Breakfast is worth having there.

No air conditioning in the winter
The location of the hotel was excellent. This was the main reason I chose it. The hotel staff were fine, breakfast was fine, quality was fine. However, what was not fine was the lack of temperature control in the hotel room. If you, like me, like to sleep in a cool and comfortable room year round, including in the winter, this hotel is not for you. I was baffled to learn there was no air conditioning in the room during the winter. Information not displayed anywhere which I learned after attempting to cool down the room by turning down the thermostat as low as it would go and the air continued to flow VERY warm. The room would not cool down below 80 degrees despite opening the windows as my room faced an enclosed courtyard without airflow. Had I known this in advance I would not have booked this hotel.

The area is well located however there is an overwhelming smell of fried food in the air that doesn’t allow you to open your window The isolation system in the hotel is outdated , yiu can’t sleep as the cars on the street are too loud and you cannot sleep

Small room. No AC, only heat (central) and room was hot; had to open the window to make it cooler. They did not clean my room one night. Towels were ripped. Not enough staff at restaurant; several minutes to order food and drinks. It shouldn’t be considered a 4 star hotel. Worst 4 star hotel that I have ever stayed and I am a frequent traveller. Overall, very disappointing.

The room we got was not in good shape. The tiles in the bathroom were broken, the heating/ac was not working well - the room would get too hot and only way to cool down was to open the window which was extremely noisy. The beds would be turned but floors weren’t vacuumed. The hotel does not offer any fancy toiletries - one bottle of all-in-one soap (body wash, shampoo, etc). Overall, I would not stay here again. Front desk was friendly.

As we believe in guest attention above all, we have some items in our reception so our guest can order some of them. Very close to all three of the major art museums and train station. Also, near shops and cafes and the metro station. Excellent breakfast in restaurant and very reasonable. The only issue is that my room faced Calle de Atocha which happened to be noisy at times, esp., in the morning with some people coming out of the taverns. Otherwise, it was very comfortable and pleasant.
