It's a Bed!

Pros: The beds were comfy!
Cons: Breakfast was a little skimpy. Parts of the hotel - including the lobby - smelled odd. Walls were paper-thin.
Location: We had dinner at The Pub House down the street, which was really good!
Super 8s are always a gamble, and this one could use some improvements in hygiene and ambiance. It was the only set of rooms we could find in the Brookings area, though, so in that regard it was a lifesaver.

Much Better Now

Pros: The new beds. The clean bathrooms.
Cons: HD Security cameras covering the parking lots AND ALL exit doors need to be card access only. Breakfast could last a little longer.
Location: Pizza Ranch right next door. Pizza Hut, McDonald's and other restaurants right down the road.
Facility in middle of renovation. The front porch roof has been replaced after someone drove into the old one. My room, 209, was very clean, and there was actually a smoke detector in the ceiling as the last time I stayed here there were bare wires hanging from the ceiling. All rooms have new Beautyrest mattresses and the AC/heater units look new. New owners are friendly, professional and getting the things done to bring this motel out of 2-stardom.

It is same ownership, But just manager is different then before. We are still working on make it much and much batter then before. I am new manager from Sep 2016. This kind of reviews are giving more encouragement and some reviews about complaints are giving me a chance to correct my mistake. It is batter if they let me know about any inconvenience at the desk, I can correct it rite away. Again, Thanks a lot and see you again on your next trip to Madison SD

Clean and quiet

Pros: Comfortable rooms, very clean, and kind staff.
Cons: Breakfast could be updated, include a few more options would be nice.
Hotel is basic, but rooms are quiet and clean. New management has taken over in the last few months. Rooms have been recently updated, paint & carpet. Continental breakfast was basic, but pleasant. Manager Dan, was very friendly and eager to be helpful.

Average room, terrible bathroom. Peeling flooring, gaps with mold near walls, cramped, old, patched ceiling. Dirty breakfast room, very poor choice of items. Will not stay there again if I can help it. Unfortunately, AmericInn was not available on Hotels.com. Will book directly with them next time I'm in that town.

Dear Guest, Sorry to here that you had bad experience. As of our experience from last several reviews from other guests are very positive. Looks like something happen wrong with your reservation or for some small reason you must be unhappy. Based on our experience in this industry we have noticed that when guests are not happy for some reason , like can't cancel or change reservation, can't upgrade, charging pet fee, asking for credit card info for incidence Etc. they are turning around and write a wrong review for misguide other people. But in order to respect you as of our valuable gust - we apologize for any inconvenience you had during your stay.

Just ok

It was okay, the deodorizer for the entire building gave me a headache. We came for a family members funeral. The vent in the bathroom didn't work and it had dirt hanging from it. The bathroom floor was dirty. The pillows were extremely small. Very unhappy.

Every once in while we have to run Ozone machine to remove cigarette smell from hallway. Infect, we converted 3 rooms upstairs and kept only one smoking room down stair. bathroom vent has been cleaned and the pillow we had on the beds are requirement of Wyndham. If we keep another brand then Wyndham charge us penalty. Thanks again. Manager

room wasn't the best but the staff was rude and didn't answer the phone and the non smoking room smelled like an ashtray i wouldn't recommend this place to worst enemy

Dear Guest, Thanks a lot for taking a time to write a review. This town is middle of no where, and FYI all towns and cities of South Dakota are very safe. We have very low almost zero crime rate. This is a university town with good culture residents. We are here more than 6 years and never found any bad incident.
