Great holiday accommodation
The hotel grounds, pool etc are excellent along with all the staff, always smiling, happy and helpful. The food was good apart from the Italian night which didn't appear to have a lot of Italian food. The rooms are clean and spacious but are in need of an update along with the bathrooms imo. Complimentary shampoo/conditioner would be nice along with bottled water. Not enough electrical sockets. Overall a nice hotel and would certainly stay again ☺️

Nice hotel with decent facilities, but the wi-fi in my room was awful - couldn't work or make calls using it at all (though it was better in the public areas). Also I found the breakfast buffet rather disappointing, with very little to mark it as Madeiran.

This place had a "nursing home" feel to it. In fact my wife joked she was going to "check me in". I didn't know but apparently Madeira Island has always been an old people place. This was also much different because I thought it was a small boutique place, it is a HUGE place, a corporate place with two hotels joined in the middle

Though located right in the city due to its lovely set up it is really quiet and you almost have the feeling to be in a botanic garden dotted with swimming pools on different levels. The room was homely and clean and even had a kitchen. The breakfast was included and amazingly good. The staff were super friendly and fun.

The gardens were excellent and well kept. Staff were friendly and helpful. We appreciated the low-rise nature of the hotel - we were on the ground floor, but the highest was only 6 floors and fairly unobtrusive. We were not informed beforehand that there was a charge of €6.50 per day for car parking!

Great place to stay in Madeira.
Fantastic stay for 4 nights in Madeira. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is amazing! Room was large, clean and had everything so needed. The garden around the pool is gorgeous.

Beautiful gardens, quiet, relaxing property, good location, nice size balconies. A very good buffet breakfast, happy hour daily at the pool bar and some other good options for dinner at the property and the adjoining hotel. Hotel is older, bathrooms could be updated in the rooms. Hotel staff are really efficient and professional.

The room allocated to us was just as I asked for and made our stay all the better. Good swimming pools including inside pool and for us the benefit of a ping pong table to use when it rained (a lot!). More a functional hotel rather than top quality but we would use again.

The property was large in size but clean in all areas. The pools were cold but we put this down to the time if year. The Mediterranean themed reception and bar areas inviting and relaxing.

Good position, pools and gardens. The Village and the Miranar are interconnecting hotels which is rather confusing for the first couple of days. Breakfast room needs to be larger. However it was a good stay.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. I was a little taken aback when I had to ask where to park at check-in, and she said anywhere. Then proceeded to ask me if I wanted a parking pass. What? Strange, but ok. Also no comment on the fact that our room was super-small for four people. Definitely more of an Expedia issue, which I need to address with customer service... however, the end result was a good one. When we questioned the front desk if we were in the right room, having two children who had to sleep in a pullout loveseat, they graciously offered to move us as soon as possible, at no charge, to a bigger room. That turned out to be a fantastic junior suite with a partial view of the ocean. Corner room, very quiet. We couldn’t get it until two days into a four-day stay, but we’ll take it. Breakfast was fine. Too many choices, nothing too spectacular, but lots to choose from, especially if you’re into bread and sweets for breakfast. Whoa. Flavored waters were lovely. Overpriced bar as per usual for a fancy hotel, but just gorgeous views everywhere you looked, even in the lobby. Hot tub was lukewarm, which disappointed my family. Pool gorgeous but unfortunately it was too cold to swim. Overall, definitely recommend!

On arrivel you where given the room that you had booked with Expedia , as soon as you alerted us we did our best to resolve the problem . thankyou for your over all review .

Could be better in other parts of the hotel.
We were put into a timeshare studio unit which was rather dated and dark as the sun never reached the patio. This may have been because I changed the original booking so it may have become a late booking. The dining facilities were crowded food reasonable. I would be careful about booking a "classic " studio " again. however I am normally very happy with rooms booked through Hotels.com

Great location only 10/15 walk into Funchal. Loved the choice of pools...used the indoor pool as it was chilly. Breakfast was full of choice...but no information about what time breakfast was. My room was a good size & comfortable bed. Only problem was due to the location on a corridor that led to restaurants, spa & pool there was noise from people walking, talking & kids running. Also charged me 5euro to use an iron for an hour & then no one came to get it so had it all time I was there?? Not very helpful at the reception when I asked for a travel adaptor...felt like I was an inconvenience...they didn’t have one any way.

Freezing pool, dated small junior suite. Please don't waste your money. Luckily we only stayed two nights. Wedding party under our suite till 3am the first night.....it was horrendous but we made the most of our stay with the previous 14 nights so all is good...

The property is very close to Funchal marina and town centre so ideal for visitors. The staff are very helpful which is very important for visitors who are not familiar with the area. I would definitely recommend the hotel to all my family and friends.

Pleasant atmosphere, older more classic style of decor, not impersonal modern. Winter Gardens a comfortable area to sit in for a drink and to listen to any entertainment. Beautiful well tended gardens. The restaurant in the Miramar is great for a special fine dining treat. We were on a b&b package so tended to eat out or do simple self catering as the rooms have a small kitchenette. Lots of restaurants in easy walking distance.

There is nothing to dislike about this hotel. it is set in beautiful tranquil tropical gardens which are absolutely stunning. Room sizes are good. A little chaotic at breakfast on occasions, but quite manageable. if I could change one thing, that would be to have the indoor pool, Jacuzzi, steam and sauna based on one area.

Spacious, clean, comfortable and easy on the eye
Third stay at this hotel. Rooms are clean and spacious and the garden areas very pleasant. Two clean outdoor pools with plenty of sunbeds. Good location with about 15-20 min walk into Funchal centre. Steep slope to entrance which may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.

Great location. Beautiful gardens
Great location only 1 km from centre and 1 km to big shopping centre called forum. Bus stops outside the hotel no1,2,4 takes you to city centre and only €2 best to get week ticket as much cheaper. Hotel marvellous with a few swimming pools on different levels. Gym sauna hot tub and steam room all free. Rooms very tidy and look great. Kitchenette in studio has 2 ring hob and a fridge and a couple of utensils. Overall I hope we can get back to here next year.

Friendly and comfortable
Good size rooms and garden view was great. Close to various pools. Staff were very friendly and helpful. 15 minute walk from the centre of Funchal. With several nice bars/restaurants only 5 minute walk away. Only constructive criticism I have is that the bathroom was a bit tired.
