The apartment was fine it was clean and had everything we needed. The only downside was the screen door to the balcony wouldn’t open properly, the tiles on the balcony floor were all lifting up and could be a trip hazard. The balcony also needed a good pressure clean.

We really liked the interior and design of the 1 bedroom apartment we stayed in. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised that the apartment absolutely corresponded to the photographs presented on the hotel website. (It often happens that everything looks beautiful in the photo, but not in reality). All furniture is in excellent condition, clean, cozy, comfortable. Another nice addition is that the hotel is located near the Queen's Park, that is convenient for morning walks or exercise.

This property has everything you need for a short or extended stay! Its modern and up to date! Beds confortable! We did have issues with wifi and rooms not quite soundproof (apologies to the floor we were on my son was exceptionally loud and obnoxious. ) loved sitting on the balcony and watching the bats

Booking and check-in were straight forward, easy and professional. Room: clean with exception of crockery (dishes) and glasses, which we had to wash. This may be a consequence of only a single sachet of dishwashing liquid and a single dishwasher capsule being provided for multi-day stays. Maybe the hotel would consider providing sufficient washing liguid/capsules for length of stay. Overall, the apartment was very clean, well appointed and quiet. We would recommend this property, and will stay again. Check Out: straight forward with no delays.

Lovely hotel and clean rooms. The pub across was road had bands playing on the Friday and Saturday night, until 11pm or so and could be heard quite loud in our room which was at the front of the front of the property.

The room itself was clean and spacious, bed and pillows extremely comfortable. We had our car parked in the undercover carpark however the rollerdoor wasnt working so people could access the carpark, the next morning each on of our canopy handles was opened where someone had tried to gain entry (they didnt thank god) food options were limited unless you wanted to walk atleast 800m but they do have menulog so we got food delivered. It was only noisy because the fire station is next door

Accommodation in Mackay can get quite pricey, but the Carlyle has all the same facilities - pool, great rooms etc - for a lot less than I am used to paying. Won't be staying anywhere else moving forward - glad I found this little gem!

Great place to stay for Rumble Skate event
Great Place to stay, awesome pool and comfortable rooms and off street parking. Close to coles and other food options. A short drive to Mackay skatepark, shopping centre and lagoon. We will be back!

Unfortunately our room was very unkept. The room itself was tidy, but there were stains all over the carpet and the lounge seat cover could not even be done up. The lamp shade in the lounge room and main bedroom had splash stains on them. Very disappointed for an Oaks hotel. We were booked for a second visit on our return trip, but we have since cancelled and booked elsewhere.

Great location
The apartment was clean and generality comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, except a coffee plunger would have been desirable. However, the mattress was hard and uncomfortable. It needed a soft top. We were disappointed to see that there was no provision for re-cycling. Everything went to landfill! Not good enough!!

Apartment should have been good but carpet was very dirty, utensils and cutlery not clean, missing even a basic fry pan and one light in kitchen didn't work, nor did the Foxtel. Staff were friendly but didn't respond to issues raised. Good parking and WiFi.

Definitely not four star unfortunately the photos don’t meet the expectations of the property. The apartment was not clean there was lots of dirty marks on the walls heavy stains on the carpet, dust everywhere and shower was very dirty and the couch was falling apart. I will not be staying again. During covid you would have thought the cleanliness would be stepped up. Disappointed.

Our room wasn’t clean it had hair balls on the carpet in the main bedroom and empty water bottles from previous stay. Carpet in lounge room was dirty. And our car park was taken by another person staying at the hotel.

We have not been disappointed in Oaks before but this was an exception. The carpet in the room was stained and dirty and gave the whole place a dirty feel. The sheet on the bed was laid straight onto the mattress with nothing underneath. The sofa had a huge stain on it and the covering wriggled off as you sat on it as it had been torn at the zipper. To make matters worse the hotel is situated across from a pub. The yelling and hooning in cars went on until the early hours of the morning. Why they didn't at least put a small quiet family on the opposite side of the hotel..I just don't know.
