If you are planning a trip to Macchu Pichu this is the place to stay. We were blown away with the service, location, staff helpfulness, and food! We where literally at the base of the mountain and our room looked out to MP and overlooked the river. I know everyone raves about the other hotel in Macchu Pichu but this place is far better. Try the spa and Pisco sours during happy hour. Breakfast, tea time, Happy Hour, and dinner is included. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Well worth the higher per night rate.
Opened in 2007 with the goal to offer an innovative proposal- its attractive and unique design- is the fruit of an arduous …More
Wonderful accommodating staff, lovely room (we had the triple). The lobby is comfortable but open air so it might get cold in the winter season. There is a computer with internet in the lobby and always hot water for tea. The staff was so friendly and went out of their way to give us directions, prepare us hot beverages after our trip to Machu Picchu and organize a pick-up from the train station at Poroy. They stored our things for free after check-out. They serve breakfast early (at 4:30am) and it is good (eggs, bread, fruit, coffee)!
Overall, the hotel was a great experience. All of the staff went way out of their way to make sure the whole experience was top notch. The room was large, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant was wonderful, we had breakfast and dinner there. The restaurant is small however the food was spectacular, very fresh and well presented. The service was second to none.
We climbed Machu Picchu mountain the morning of our departure and the hotel held our bags for us after check-out. They also provided complimentary use of the hotel SPA for us to shower and change following the hike before we headed to the train station for our return to Cusco.
The front desk and restaurant staff made me feel welcome and at home. The Pisco Sour was very good. The Ceviche de Trucha was excellent. The local tea was a novelty and practical for people going on a trek.
The loose toilet seat was a little tricky; one had to be careful sitting down, and the hand towel ring that kept falling off the wall indicates laxness in maintenance and care-and-attention by staff. Nevertheless, the bedding was fresh and clean.
The location is good if a little noisy: the barking dog and local kids setting off firecrackers were somewhat intrusive in the evening.
Very clean hotel. Design is nice, staff is friendly.
Wifi is good but, hey to charge $5.00 / is well.....
The train to Machu Picchu runs literally 10' in front of the front door of the hotel. So about 4 times during the night be prepared for a 6.4 earthquake in your room. So a good nights sleep will be a challenge prior to hiking Machu Picchu.
If the tacky $5.00 / day for the internet and the train running almost through room is not a problem then I think it's a great hotel.
We were met at the train by Christian, whose family owns and runs the hotel. He was great, told us everything we needed to know, and set us up for a fabulous day at Macchu Piccu.
This is a great place to stay.
Hotel clean and nice, confortable bed, very well located. On the negative side, the bathroom was very small and the room was noised (window to the lobby)
We left very early and they gave us a breakfast in a bag, they also kept our luggage until the afternoon.
I would say that the hotel was according to the price
Dramatic cliffs, swathed in emerald green, rise into misty skies to envelop the tourist town of Aguas Calientes, the first and last stop for most Machu Picchu visitors. Buses depart from Aguas Calientes along a winding, mountainous road towards the iconic Peruvian landmark, thought to be royal Incan estate built in the 1400s. The town's other attraction is its namesake: a set of hot springs.
