Nice. Confusion around guides for Machu Pichu. Had to wait 3 hours to get info when we were told 1 hour. Otherwise the place was clean and we appreciated the shower option for 10 soles after our checkout
"Perfect refuge after a long trek to Machu Picchu"
This hotel was absolutely amazing. We walked in dirty and dusty from 4 days on the Inka trail and they immediately warmly welcomed us with refreshments and comfortable seating as they checked us in from their lobby couches instead of standing at the counter! The food was AMAZING! We had a beautiful balcony outside our room overlooking a park and the river. The service was fantastic. A hotel employee went to the train station to purchase our tickets, they held our luggage the next day while we toured the city and then they delivered our luggage to the train station. Every detail was taken care of.

We spent two nights at this hotel and were quite satisfied with our stay. Here is what we like about the hotel:
1. The family room. The room was exactly as represented on the hotel's website with one twin bed and a double bed. Our room had a nice view of the mountain and river as well as a view of the working train station located across the hotel (if you look down). However, the noise from the train station is not really an issue if you plan to take the early bus to Machu Picchu to see the sunrise. Plenty of hot water in the shower, which was much appreciated after a long day at Machu Pichu which included the hike up Machu Pichu mountain (well worth it to see the view of the ruins and Waynu Pichu in the background).
2. The staff. Very friendly and helpful staff. When we checked in, the staff was very good in making sure that we had everything needed for our trip to Machu Picchu the next day.
3. The breakfast. For a "budget" hotel, I was surprised at the array of fruits and food offered for breakfast (included in the room rate). The staff will ask you the night before what type of eggs (fried, scrabbled or omelet) you want and what time you want to have breakfast.
4. Good wifi. Although the wifi is supposed to be available only in the lobby, we were able to get it in our room. There is also a lobby on the upper floor.
Stayed two nights, enjoyed all my interactions with Marco, the owner. Love the place; on a quiet street high above town, with soaring views if you get a window room on an upper floor. Marco is a wonderful help in everything from restaurant recommendations to transportation issues, and speaks fairly good English to boot if needed. Breakfast was typical of such sized hotels, with a spread of cold and hot fare, some of which can be pocketed for lunch.
Dramatic cliffs, swathed in emerald green, rise into misty skies to envelop the tourist town of Aguas Calientes, the first and last stop for most Machu Picchu visitors. Buses depart from Aguas Calientes along a winding, mountainous road towards the iconic Peruvian landmark, thought to be royal Incan estate built in the 1400s. The town's other attraction is its namesake: a set of hot springs.
