We had booked a 4 night stay. We didn’t even stay one night. Bed bugs!!! The main bed is behind the kitchen counter which, with the bathroom wall, surrounds the left side and the top of the bed. The top part was musty and unclean which made us question the state of the bed. We decided to pull the sheets in the corner and those "lovely" bugs appeared. We were shocked! For a second, we froze then we took pictures and a short video. We called management, well… that didn't help! We were left stranded in a place where we certainly couldn't sleep! When we call back after sending the pictures, a recorded message announced that Service was closed although we had just talked to the lady a few minutes before. She never got back to us that night. It was 10:00 pm, we were exhausted, didn't have the ressources to try to find an hotel in Lyon at that time, and to tell the hotel, what? "Well, we are last minute because we had to leave a place that has bed bugs.” I'm sure we would have been welcomed with opened arms... We went directly to the airport! We stayed there all night, didn't sleep and caught a plane at 10:00 am the next day. Needless to say when we arrived home, problems were not over, we had to make sure we were not inviting those guests in your own home. The situation happened on September 21, 2019, we are now October 7th, and still no reimbursement from The Charming Place. Hotels.com is now taking care of things for us.
