The reception/check in member of staff was super helpful and friendly. The bed and shower were excellent. The hotel was right in the heart of the centre and good walkable access to restaurants, bars, shops and attractions.

Great location - a few quirks
Nice hotel in a great location. A few quirks and problems like the mirror in the bathroom is hung to high for short people (under 5’2”) and the elevator didn’t work on our floor

The rooms were equipped with an espresso machine, easy to use "cast" feature on the TV for streaming shows, and the bathroom came with full bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, hand soap. The staff was very helpful and booked us a car, stored our luggage and were overall very accommodating. I didn't have the breakfast, but the cellar-like dining room was so charming and warm.

Affordable gem in downtown Lyon
Superb location, I was given a room on the 5th floor with a balcony that had a great view. The room is small and efficient. Highly recommended

Simple, modern design with very good bathrooms and comfortable beds. A couple of small things needed to be repaired, but nothing significant. I would certainly choose this hotel again for a visit to Lyon.

It is great in terms of location and accessibility from the airport. The actual hotel relies on a very tiny elevator so if you have a lot of bags and/or people it’s very difficult. We also had to move rooms because of a very loud leaking pipe. The hotel itself is nice in the lobby but the rest informs you that it’s very old and hasn’t been looked after. My partner accidentally stepped on a mouse which then scurried into a hole into the wall as we walked up the stairs.

Perfect room for when you need more than 1 bed. It was surprisingly spacious & the bathroom was great as well. Staff were friendly & welcoming. I appreciated the carbonated water fountain available in the lobby especially. They also locked the doors starting at 11pm which helped us to feel safe & secure during our stay.

Location of property is perfect. Check in was easy with friendly staff. We were on third floor, elevator worked only about 1/3 of the time we needed it. Room was very cute and we wanted to like it. Front doors of rooms were very loud, our sqeaked, and you could hear neighbors doors slamming every time they would enter and exit room. Bed was nice size, USA King size, but was very firm. Stayed for three nights and struggled to sleep on hard bed, very painful. Requested a couple extra pillows to help with discomfort of bed. Staff said they would bring them if available, then never showed. Mold in shower. After one of room cleaning had to ask for replacement pollow case due to blood stain, which staff promptly replaced. Overall, we wanted to love it, but could not stay there again because of discomfort of bed.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very centrally located. Shopping, dining and major tourist attractions within walking distance. Shame about the expensive parking. 53€ for 2 nights (36hrs) - and that’s with the discount for staying at the hotel - is an expense I hadn’t really expected. Just saying.

Loved it here!
We've stayed twice now - on the same trip and had a lovely time. Every single team member is amazingly friendly and helpful. The rooms are lovely and clean. It's also a great location for being a tourist in Lyon - access to great bars and restaurants - all in walking distance.

Right in the heart of the old city. Would recommend you not get a room on the top floor (6) no elevator, and low head space. All the other floors are great.

Spacious rooms, good location
We stayed in a family room, which was quite spacious. This made it easier with a family of 3 to not be tripping on luggage. The hotel is centrally located and close to shopping, restaurants and museums. Bed were comfortable, but the room had a smell of musk or mildrew almost, as soon as you came off the elevator and through the first door to the rooms you could smell it. There was water damage on the roof in the room. The bathroom was quite large as well with a tub and separate shower. The drawers in the vanity weren't clean as they had hair in them, but overall the room was clean. The sofa bed our son slept in was comfortable however it squeaked so loud with even the smallest movement so it was a distraction in the night.

The room is lovely and clean, as is the lobby. The stairs and hallways have carpet that definitely needs to be removed. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the location is great. The air conditioning DOES NOT WORK, which makes it impossible to sleep in this weather, particularly that when you open the windows there are motorcycles racing and revving their motors.

As explained by our receptionist at your check-out, each of our rooms are different, and the pictures are uploaded by the group owners in Paris, meaning that we have no control over the website. We are however sad to read that you felt there was a smell of smoke in your room. This is obviously not representative of the quality of service provided by our hotel, as all of our rooms are non-smoking rooms. Maybe one of the customers around didn't get the rule. We apologize for the incident. As for the small lift, since the hotel is built in a silk shop, this is something that we won't be able to change. Not a proper 4 stars hotel
The rooms look nice but far from what you'd expect for a supposedly 4 stars hotel. The carpet in the stairs and corridors were filthy, very run down. There's no fridge in the room so it was hard to keep the water fresh given that a/c can't be lowered below 23°C. The location is perfect though.

We took note of your comment regarding the carpets and will do our best to see what would be the best solution to correct that with our team. As for the lack of fridge and lower temperatures for the A/C, as explained at your arrival, this was chosen as one of our main values is the protection of the planet. Having a fridge in each of our 46 rooms would directly contradict these values, that is why you have a water fountain at your entire disposal with very cold water at the lobby. Governments also recommend to not put the a/c more than 7 degrees below the outside temperature. We are sorry this caused some inconvenience regarding the water. Make sure for a next trip in Lyon to inform the reception about this issue so that we can try to make your experience better (providing a fan or putting your bottle in our own fridge for example).We wish you a lovely day.Best regards,The hotel manager.

Perfectly located boutique hotel & great service
The service was amazing. The room was very nice and cool and spacious as we were given an upgrade. We enjoyed the water bottle filling station and lattes in the lobby. The coffee machine in our room didn’t work properly and I don’t think the floor was cleaned. But overall we enjoyed our stay. The location in the old city was amazing. Easy to get everywhere.

Great stay at Hotel Silky!
Had a very good stay at Hotel Silky. A smaller boutique hotel. Rooms are smaller as it's Europe, but it was clean, comfortable and a wonderful front clerk, Fatma! She gave good directions and suggestions. Unfortunately the coffee machine didn't work in the lobby, but there was one in the room. Great sparkling and still water fountain in the lobby! The staff also were accommodating when we left our bags hours before check in and a few hours after check out, so we had more time to explore Lyon without our heavy backpacks. Had an issue with the safe in the room. Fatma sent a staff member right away to check, but unfortunately the lock was broken. No big deal. Stayed 2 nights with a friend. Had a room in front on 2nd foor. Drapes helped keep the sun out and the windiws were pretty sound proof. Didnt hear other guests on the floor, bonus! AC worked and that was good as it was 90 degrees the whole time I was in Lyon. The hotel is very close to the Old part of Lyon, just across the bridge and convenient to the Metro. I would recommend this hotel for sure.

A really very good option for you Lyon stay
Excellent experience, room facing an inner courtyard so no street noise, very comfortable bed, a coffee/tea machine that I really appreciate, all in all a very, very good experience - tried a few Lyon hotels and this one really holds its own, especially at that price point and location. Lovely staff at reception.

Very cute and updated hotel with large rooms. The room was very warm despite having the AC on, pillows are on the hard side, and the room unfortunately smelled very old and musty. It is a convenient area to stay. Close to shopping and restaurants, although can be a little loud at night.

Hotel is central to the entertainment district. Very convenient to walk practically everywhere. Staff are outstanding. I left a package there by mistake upon departure and they shipped it to me in the US. Coffee and water available 24/7. Hotel is 4 star by european standards / 3.5 star US standards. Would definitely stay here again.

Very good central location. Easy walking distance to shopping areas and old Lyon. Multiple restaurants in easy walking distance. Staff very helpful and friendly. Free coffee and hot chocolate in reception 24/7, though breakfast not very good. Hotel looked tired and in need of renovation. Room a bit basic and doesn't compare favourably with 4* city centre hotels in other cities we have visited.

This hotel must be Lyon's best kept secret, located right in heart of the Presqu'ile and a great base for exploring the city. As someone who visits Lyon regularly this will be my new first choice
