Here for a family gathering

Posted 15-May-2017
Pros: Bright, airy room, more than adequate parking and good food.
Cons: Some areas need upgrading.
Location: Easy walk in Milford on Sea village which has restaurants and bars and some small shops. Easy drive to the New Forest and Lymington for IoW ferry.
The hotel served very pleasant food, good facilities and WiFi and the bedroom was extremely comfortable, bright and airy. Some of the corridors need upgrading but it was a more than acceptable place to stay.

Nice hotel close to the beach

Posted 03-May-2017
The staff is very friendly and our room was very clean. Unfortunately we did not get a room with a view so looking to the roof terrace rather than to the nice view.

Just what we wanted

Posted 17-Apr-2017
Pros: I liked the garden, the room, the food, the staff, the location.
Cons: Good value. It is ok.
Location: Short walk to Milford, with tea shops, pubs, hole in the wall, shops. Walks by the sea. Lymington, Bournemouth, Keyhaven nearby. Boat trips. Great.
We arrived quite tired after a long journey. The purpose of our visit was to see a friend awaiting an operation. It was lovely to have two quiet rooms, facing onto a field with sheep and horses. It was within walking distance of Milford where our friend lives. I really appreciated having all our meals in the hotel, including lunch next day, when we invited Sue to join us. In the evening we had a bar snack which was delicious. There was croquet on the lawn to play if we wished. The hotel is near to interesting places: Keyhaven, Milford, Bournemouth, Lymington, all of which we visited. Staff were friendly and helpful, as were people in the local shops, and in the local church. Very satisfactory.

Wedding & Overnight Stay

Posted 13-Nov-2016 on Ebookers
Location: As above - this is a very pretty part of England. Didn't explore but the hotel is on the main road (although set back so traffic is not a problem)
We attended a friends wedding here; the ceremony, wedding breakfast, after drinks and evening disco all held in the same place, plus we booked to stay overnight. All in all very happy with the stay, food was excellent (portion size a little small on the breakfast) and the room for the ceremony was laid out nicely, clean bright and staff clearly were caring towards the bride and groom throughout and they were very happy too. Only criticisms would be the bar has very few seats so a lot of standing around waiting for the room to be swapped, but the prices in the bar were reasonable and the service quick and friendly. Rooms are a little warm and the radiators need bleeding (!) but other than that looks like they have been recently refurbished and are clean and bright. The function room has some worrying looking cracks on the wall but that is either new plaster or plaster in need of refurbishment. Breakfast is a plated traditional English with limited continental (toast, cereal yoghurt) and the food was freshly cooked and really hot. Location is very pretty and the grounds are well maintained and access is easy with loads of spacious parking. really enjoyed the stay and can vouch for our friends and other guests also being pleased with the wedding itself and the accommodations/hospitality.
