We enjoyed our stay very much in this unique hotel. We felt safe and well taken care of. Breakfast was excellent. It isn't 5 star but served our needs well.

We were a group of 4 adults booked to a room that was meant for no more than 3 (and even this would have been a tight fit). We found that the beds consumed virtually the entire width of the room, with little room for us to leave our suitcases. As a consequence we put the tea and coffee facilities on top of the wardrobe, so that we could use the bench space they previously occupied for our stuff. And if the room was small, the bathroom was worse. A basin, shower, and toilet had to fit into a tiny, narrow space. With no separation between them, each shower taken inevitably led to a wet bathroom floor. Further, the shower curtain (which did not reach to the floor) clings to your body when you are showering, making for a more unpleasant shower experience. You also have to hold the shower head while showering to have any chance of minimizing water wastage. There was also no elevator in the hotel, so our luggage had to be carried up the 3 floors to our room, which came at a further charge to us. Walking up to our room each time was also quite tiring after a day out touring in the hot Egyptian sun. But to mention the positive, the rooftop terrace was a great place to look out over the city and have a meal. Further, the breakfast – held on this terrace – was absolutely sumptuous. It was buffet style, with cereals, pastries, breads, toppings, hot food, and freshly cooked omelets available. To enjoy this breakfast while looking out over Luxor and the Nile, is a magical experience.

Expedía review Nefretiti; This is a local hotel, not a big fancy international chain. What a wonderful change of pace from the hectic Cairo. This hotel is a great location on the east bank to the Nile River cruises. It is right across the street from the Nile and the walk way along the waterfront that leads to the Luxor Temple, Karnak Temples, the mummy museum, and the private water taxi and public water ferry. Mr Akram, the manager, is very obliging. This hotel goes out of its way to ensure you have a comfortable stay and no problems. It offers a very nice comfortable covered outdoor table area double serving as a restaurant, free from outside touters. This hotel is a local hotel, about 400m from the big chain luxury hotels, but is just as accessible to the Luxor temple, and right at the Souk markets, great local restaurants, eateries, ATM, and cafes. There are inexpensive corner shops to pick up water, or whatever, within metres of the hotel, where they charge local, not tourist, prices. There were several single travellers staying at this hotel, as well as a few families, and couples from all nationalities including Taiwan, China, Spain, USA, South African, Egypt, French etc. Most of the staff are very good at English. It does have good security - all staff Knew who belonged there.
