I'd read bad reviews of this & similar 'studios' in the area, which are all run by the same company, but decided to chance it. A terrible mistake. First, it's student accommodation: you will be woken up at all hours by screaming and music. Secondly, it's the worst run 'hotel' since Fawlty Towers. I had booked and paid in advance for 5 nights: despite knowing I probably won't get a refund, I left after 2.
1st, they couldn't find my booking. The person at the front desk didn't believe that I had one, despite showing him my confirmation email, & tried instead to sell me another room. It took 30 mins & several calls to the manager, who kept breaking off the call to have chats with his family, before they managed to find it.
I got to the room, which was filthy (hair in the plughole & on the floor) & clearly hadn't been cleaned since the previous occupant (who had left food in the cupboards), but it was late & I was shattered. I cleaned it up & went to bed, for 5 hours of being woken up every hour by screaming students.
The next evening I was in the room, thankfully dressed, when the same person who had checked me in the previous night knocked then entered without waiting for an answer, attempting to check another guest in to the same room. I spent the whole night unable to sleep through noise & worry that someone else might barge in at any moment & left first thing the next morning. Alternative hotel cost me £180: I'd rather pay that than spend another night in this pit.
