The house is adjacent the national
park and there’s a fire road that takes you right up to the Appalachian Trail. The house is fine-not fancy in any way, and could use some basic updates. Like a cutting board, smoke detectors that don’t go off when you’re cooking, a new faucet in the bathroom, a fumigator to get rid of the ladybugs, some nicer sheets...But if you look past all of that and spend time on the deck and watch the sunset, or the spectacular display of stars, or have a fire in the pit and take a long stride in the tree swing, it’s easy to overlook the less-than-fabulous aspects of this little house in the woods. AND Susan who owns the property is an absolute treasure. We didn’t see her much and she was unobtrusive, but we had the absolute delight of hearing a few of her family’s stories about growing up on the mountain. She’s is delightful and a joy.
