"It was a real unusual property, a rustic village house. There is a little known castle ruin a short walk up the hill. Loved the washing machine, fire, cat and the helpful owner. It is hard to find, park at the town crossroads and walk up and right. But the locals will point you to it."

"Beautiful setting and great location for visiting sites in Tuscany. As we expected the road up was a little tricky. Coffee maker in smaller apartment did not work but we managed with the other one in the larger apt. WE had a great time and would reccommend it as a great place for family and friends"

"Our stay at Casa del Borgo was pleasant. We had good communication w/host as very responsive. We did not realize how remote the air b n b was, but it made for a private cozy getaway. Renata left great suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. she even made dinner reservations for us! "During our stay in La Spezia, we did not have a rental car, which meant that for us, the walk to go downtown took about 30 minutes or more which we were not aware of. If you have a car to use, then it's a close drive! Just be aware if you are walking, it's a far walk to downtown and it's a LOT of uphill walking."

"The view from this hillside retreat was amazing! Waking up in the morning to the birds singing through the windows was a perfect start to the day before heading out to busier areas. The town of Lerici and castle were fun to explore and a short train ride to explore the sites of the Cinque Terre. He provided staff to prepare meals as we specified including three dinners and all breakfasts - in every instance, we received excellent food at reasonable prices from expert staff. The wonderful old farmhouse with its stone steps and brick floors overlooking the nearby hills, from the scent of honeysuckle each time you pass through the door, to the cool rustic kitchen at the rear of the house. The smaller bathroom could do with a bit of an update and neither bathroom has particularly good ventilation even with the skylight. Mosquito count was low. "As all the other reviews have mentioned, the property is located on a hillside with spectacular views. Our room was for 3 people and the only view from the room was through the wooden blinds over a window. "
