This is the second time I've stayed at this property and once again it was a very rewarding experience. It's a family run hotel and there is a great deal of warmth toward customers. My room was well maintained and I really like the fact that there was always somebody at the front desk in the event I had a question. Giovanni was very helpful on arranging transport for me to the train station.. I look forward to return to Lucca when I do, hopefully I'll be able to stay at this property again.

A Great Time In Lucca
Perfectly sized hotel full of charm, friendly yet discreet family run , very comfortable and lovely terrace, free off road parking, comfortable rooms and air con which was very much needed, very close to the walls of the historic centre, reachable on foot in 10 minutes. Breakfast was excellent, plenty to eat and drink, loved it here. Stayed here to see Lucca and a day trip to Pisa, easily done on the train

Great location at a very reasonable price

Very nice, close to the historic centre
The hotel is very nice, they have parking. Very convenient to leave the car and take a 15 min walk to the historic centre. The staff very polite. I recommend it!

Excellent value for money
Lucca is a very pretty place to visit and this hotel was perfectly placed to make the most of our stay. Only a few minutes walk to the walls and then you are in photo mode. The hotel is clean, bedrooms spacious with excellent showers and has good air conditioning. We chose not to have breakfast as we were so close to the city and so ate out. The owners leant us free bikes to tour the city and that was fantastic as you can cycle traffic free on the walls. Cycling in the city is fun too but there are lots of tourists.

Awesome service and care!!!
The hotel was quaint and I would stay there again for sure. The service and Care was above and beyond!!! The only concern was the bed mattress was a little hard. However, it was a very special memory and my wife and I both wish we could have stayed longer there and in Lucca. Grazie!!!

What a nice stay we had for 3 nights. 5 minute walk to old town Lucca. Wonderful restaraunts and Puccini concerts every night for $20.00. 1 hour drive to La Spezia where we took the trai to all Cinque Terre towns and yes walked them all, even Corniglia! The hotel has parking which was key for me. The owners were very helpful and gracious!

Highly Recommended! Lovely hotel!
This is a very nice little hotel outside Lucca. It is decorated beautifully with great Italian ambience. We found the bed to be comfortable and the room nice as well. The breakfast was great at just 5 euros. Plenty of hot water in the shower. There is air conditioning if you need it and windows to open for the fresh air. We hung out one afternoon on the terrace just enjoying some wine from the bar. It is a short walk into Lucca which was wonderful for sightseeing. Our highlight was renting bikes and riding along the wall. We were given good information about where to eat and reservations made for us. Our hosts were the best genuinely caring about our stay. Highly recommended!

Fabulous family run hotel
Spacious, clean, very reasonably priced accommodation a short walk from the city wall. Very friendly and responsive staff happy to help out in any way they can. Arranged transport to the airport and bag storage for me. Free car parking and bikes to use.

We loved this place! The owners were very sweet and helpful. They were eager to help with anything we needed, and the hotel is well-located just outside the city walls with free parking. Lucca is a tough place to find a parking spot, and not easy to drive through, so this is a definite plus.

The place to stay
A warm comfortable place to stay while seeing the sites of Lucca,' historical center. Staff was very helpful and personable. It is a family run hotel and that creates a very comfortable environment for travelers. I will definitely stay at this hotel my next trip to Lucca. The rooms were kept very clean and it was very quiet in the area surrounding the hotel. I concur with other reviewers that the train station is a bit far to walk with all your luggage. This should not be a problem as one can take the LAM BLUE (blue line) bus which drops you off at via Cardorna which is quite close to the hotel. A taxi runs 9 euro to the hotel. One can reach the historical center of town in about a five minute walk.

Very comfortable and clean family hotel, quite close to the main attractions of Lucca. Our hosts were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. All in all we had a lovely stay and would gladly stay there again.

It was ok. We went there for a half marathon, and checkout was at 1100. at least they accommodated us to take a shower in a different room, but we g=had to pay an extra 20 euros. Breakfast was not included either. We had to pay 10 euros. They were friendly though and the place was not bad. Overall it was ok.

We liked Hotel Melecchi very much as a base to explore Lucca. Clean, quiet, and friendly with a good five euro breakfast. It is about ten minutes walk to the eastern gate to the city. Sorry to leave, really.

Lovely family-run hotel in a quiet area of Lucca
We are very happy to have chosen this hotel, owned and run by a delightful and hard working family. Our room was comfortable and well-equipped and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast each day (extra, but very good value). The hotel has a bar serving drinks to residents, and a sunny terrace at the rear with plenty of seating. We found it very quiet at night, despite the convenient location. Well done Giovanni, Rosella and Marino for taking such trouble to make sure your guests enjoy their stay! If we return to Lucca, we will be sure to stay here again!

The family who run this place go out of their way to make your stay so easy and accomodating. Room is perfect, great aircon, very clean. Breakfast was also fantastic and great value. Some old bikes are free to use and that was one of the highlights of our short stay, riding them to dinner in Lucca. Can reccomend highly enough, great value and service.

This family run hotel is not only charming, but inexpensive and in a great location. The family was so friendly and helpful. They gave us great information on City's history and events that would be happening during our stay. The rooms and beds are comfortable. Plenty of hot water for showering, and the AC worked great. They have free wifi & free onsite parking. They also have bikes available free of charge. Breakfast is offered for 5 euros. It consisted of meats, cheese, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, a croissant, toast, juices & coffee.

A friendly, very helpful manager who booked taxis for us, printed our opera tickets too - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast at an extra €5 per person was a bargain. For a short stay hotel in Lucca it was excellent.

Charming hotel about seven minutes walk to the gate Porta Elisa on the town wall. From there about ten minutes walk to several different major sights in the old town. The hotel is clean, and the room was big enough for our purposes. The proprietor was very pleasant and helpful. I'd definitely stay there again. It's a bit of a hike from the rail station, but the "Blu" mini bus drops you a block away from the hotel.

A friendly family hotel with safe parking to the rear. Breakfast was excellent with the helpful and attentive son of the family. We only stayed for one night, but a good value hotel, only a few minutes walk from the city walls.

Fabulous service in a family owned and run hotel. They take great pride in their business and it is evident from the high level of care they provide. Not a high end hotel, but service exceeds that of higher end hotels I have stayed at.

Delightful Stay!
We had an excellent stay at Hotel Melecchi thanks to Giovanni and his lovely parents with whom he runs the hotel. They were extremely personable, helpful and professional. Giovanni pointed out places of interest for our walk into the heart of the city. And the hotel has free parking, which is very convenient. Walking on the path atop the ramparts is fantastic. In the morning, for a nominal price, we had a delicious breakfast before heading out. My only recommendation is to stay in Lucca for more than one night!

We checked into the hotel half way through our vacation. We found it to be exactly as advertised and the owners to be wonderful and very helpful. We would stay there again and would recommend it highly. It is well located only a 5 minute walk from the entrance to the walled city of Lucca. The owners make you feel welcome and like family from the moment that you arrive to the moment you leave. It was a wonderful experience.
