It's a convenient base for exploring the surrounding rainforest. For travellers looking for an authentic experience and easy access to river activities, staying close to the square is ideal.

The best time to go to Loyoboc is during the dry season, which typically runs from April to October.During these months, you'll experience less rainfall and more sunshine, making it ideal for exploring the rainforest and enjoying outdoor activities. The paths and trails are generally easier to navigate, and wildlife spotting is often more productive as animals are more active and visible. The average daily temperature during this period is a pleasant 28°C, great for comfortable adventures. For those planning to explore the Amazon River and its tributaries by boat, the dry season offers lower water levels, which can sometimes make certain smaller waterways less accessible. However, it also means that riverbanks are more exposed, potentially offering better opportunities to spot caimans and capybaras basking in the sun. This period is particularly good for families looking for comfortable conditions for wildlife excursions.Conversely, the wet season, from November to March, brings higher humidity and frequent, heavy downpours. While the rainforest is incredibly lush during this time, some activities might be weather-dependent. However, the higher river levels during the wet season allow boats to access areas that are otherwise unreachable, offering a different perspective of the ecosystem.
