Accommodations were very nice. We ate one dinner and 3 breakfasts at the hotel restaurant and were VERY pleased. The wait staff were SUPER nice and food excellent. The people at the check-in desks were REALLY helpful in making dinner reservations at other nice restaurants and giving us directions to get around. The room was very clean and roomy and had a refrigerator and single-cup coffee maker. Loved it.
For the most part, Hotel Royal William was a good place to stay. Front desk was helpful, although on the 1st night of our stay, we had to park the next street over for $12. The following nights we were directed to park in the Hotel's parking garage, across the street for $16 a night. Kind of a weird set-up! The bistro was very good. Food was yummy with many good choices and the waitstaff was both friendly and helpful! Our room was clean, comfortable and freshly scented. The only complaint was that, on 2 occasions, we didn't get enough towels and wash cloths and toiletries. However, when we called the front desk, these items were promptly sent up to us.
This is an older hotel of only 15 rooms, some sharing bathrooms and I prefer private bathroom (which we had). Its is very central to all in old Quebec, close to hospitals which was the reason for us being there. It is very, very clean and the owners are great hosts. Continental breakfast was as expected but the personality of the owner running to the bakery shop to get us whole wheat bread ( called boring bread) because my husband is diabetic and I cannot eat seeds make me realize how much the hosts considered their guests.
Would stay there again.

The narrow streets of Quartier du Petit-Champlain, featuring Maison Chevalier, and rue du Petit-Champlain, a pedestrian-only street lined with cafes and shops are popular with visitors.
