House for rent only and which is not a main residence. House renovated nine in 2013 located in the city center 800 meters from the sanctuaries, in a private garden, very quiet (not overlooked on the street) with possibility of garage. Ground floor with an equipped kitchen (hob, oven, microwave, fridge and freezer, washing machine and dishwasher), a living room with convertible sofa bed for 2, a bathroom with shower and equipment for the disabled. One floor with a double bedroom 140 cm, a bedroom with double bed 140 cm and 2 twin beds 90 cm, a bathroom with bath and shower. Free WIFI.

Disappointing
The property has not been maintained or checked for cleanliness prior to occupation. Mould on surface of dinner plates, bowls requiring cleaning prior to use. Strong odor of urine in living room, dank smell from kitchen drain, mold . At check-in we were told to purchase our own toilet paper! No paper towels either.Mosquito infested outdoor sitting area precluded its use and no screens on any windows or doors.

The property is located in an interesting position in between two roads. It is accessed via a car park which leads to a lockable gate to the parking area for the house.There is a further lockable gate which gives entry to a long garden with plenty of trees.These gates helped me feel secure. The garden footpath takes you to the entry point of the house which is the kitchen door. In the main my stay was quite agreeable and the location is quiet particularly at night which for me is very important. My bed was comfortable and the pillow was soft.The upstairs bathroom is of a good size with a comfortable bath.However I think the lighting in the bathroom could be improved on .The separate toilet has a good flush. Down stairs the kitchen is well equipped. As I was on my own I didn't use the dish washer and made use of the kitchen sink for washing up which really needed a bit more elbow room ! The kitchen door handle seemed a little loose and may need some attention. The lounge is comfortable and the TV worked well . Shops including a good supermarket are just a short walk away. The garden is nice and a good place to relax with plenty of shaded areas including table and chairs. The parish church which is presently being refurbished is just a short walk away and the Sanctuaries are within easy walking distance for most. Overall my stay was pleasant and reasonably quiet.

Great place to stay with family, very friendly & helpful host and good location.
The house is very nice, facilities is complete. I like the big shower area, very nice design. The heater is a lot, very useful for us from a tropical country which is afraid of cool. Location is good, near the market Les halles and supermarket also. The owner is very helpful and friendly. He greet us when we arrive. During check out,we got difficulty call taxi because we don't understand French language. The owner also help us to call taxi. Overall, all is very good and perfect.

Favorite place to stay of our whole trip!
This is like staying in a quaint cottage with comfort. The location is good, and the entire place was so nice to come to after a whole day out. Highly recommend staying here while in Lourdes. Thank-you to the hosts for helping us and accommodating us.

Lovely property, very central, with garage
The owner is very helpful and easy to communicate with. The property is accessed via a car park, which is initially off putting, but once you enter it is lovely. A large garden, with a patio and seating, leads to the house. There is everything that is needed including a dish washer and washing machine. The house is large and has a good sized TV. I have given four stars as some elements such as the sofa and a number of chipped plates make some elements feel a little tired. We also had a problem with ants that Christian, the owner, helped with very quickly. At the end of the garden there is a large gate that makes you feel very secure at night (although Lourdes feels very safe anyway) and a parking area for one car. There is also a garage. The house is situated behind the parish church and it is very easy to get to. It is ideal as you can walk to the Grotto and Domaine in about 15 minutes but also get to shops and out of town very quickly. It is metres from good shops, baker etc.

Beautiful property with French character and charm
Couldn't be happier. The property was very well located, a short walk from the high street shops, very near a beautiful church, and the tourist office, and about a fifteen to twenty minute walk from the grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. Our host, Christian, was very welcoming and came out to meet us in the rain. He helped carry our bags into the property and even left us his umbrella as we neglected to bring one! He gave us a quick tour of the place, which looked just like the photos only even more charming and spacious. We found it exceptionally clean and tidy. It had all the mod cons one could want, including an automatic fire which added a lovely cosiness to the place. We have two children and especially appreciated the baby cot, high chair, and selection of toys and games we found in the large cupboard. There is a downstairs wet room for disabled guests (which we did not need to use), a lovely large shower upstairs, and a bath tub which was great for bathing our little ones. The garden was large and had many areas to sit and relax, but as we stayed in November it was too cold to enjoy. Check in and check out were easy and Christian made himself available by phone the entire time. We did call on him as the fire ran out of fuel and he was very responsive. The only small suggestion we would make is that it could possibly do with a new sofa, but that did not negatively impact our stay. We highly recommend the property and would stay again.

First stay in Lourdes
I was amazed that this property could be both so very secluded but also within a short walking distance of the centre of French life, Les Halles, the market. Also close by was the Tourist Office, very helpful in giving advice. Also, there was a mini supermarket which certainly stocked enough goods for all basic needs. I do recommend Les Halles for buying all manner of things, obviously bread, cheese, ham, also made dishes, I loved the Ratatouille. There was also a big outdoors market one day for produce from the area; I bought white asparagus, salad stuff, pork rillettes and some lovely Apricot jam. Some of these stalls were quite large, others small, I noticed that some elderly ladies were selling a few items, some homemade jam and a few vegetables or eggs. A very vibrant atmosphere, it was a 'catch up' and allowed everyone to talk about the past weeks' events. As everywhere, tremendous friendliness towards me and my friend- something to be remembered. For many, the importance of Lourdes is for the shrine to The Virgin. Very easy to get to there by foot or on a bus. The bus, from memory, S5, is a circular one about 6minutes from the house. It goes to the Basilica. The roads near the shrine are full of shops selling typical tourist things relating to Lourdes. Having said that Incame across a very interesting shop that sold fossils and I purchased an Ammonite as my souvenir. I also took bus to SNCF Gare to take localbus to Cauterets - check times - , terrific journey towards foothills of Pyrenees; two people selling their wares, bought more cheese, olives, pork and duck pate. Had a pleasant meal and returned. Cauterets very much a ski resort but worth a visit. Took train from SNCF Lourdes to Pau, a University town also very historic as Henri fourth of Navarre had palace there, also for those interested in history, Bernadotte, who founded the line of the present Swedish Royal family was born there. Back to the house; a beautifully presented property with a delightful garden, long and private because of position and the trees. Lovely to sit outside and enjoy a coffee or glass of wine. I would certainly wish to return again; a word of advice, make sure you understand the two controls for the TV, not complicated but I wasn't used to dual control. I know that M Desmales will ensure that a few basics are left if someone is arriving late. A very enjoyable seven days, a part of France I had not visited before; delightful in every way.

Tranquil, clean and very convenient Lourdes house stay
We spent 4 very enjoyable days at Christian's lovely house. Very stylish property with great mod cons. Spacious, with a lovely secluded feel to the place. Easy 10-15 minutes walk to the grotto. Good wi-fi, and very friendly house owner. Would definitely stay here again when in Lourdes.
