Checked out after first night
Bearing in mind this was the first night of a honeymoon trip, I would have to say we were bitterly disappointed with the Dixie- which from the outside looked fun, but the rooms were dingy our room had a lovely view of a very large brick wall about a meter from the window... Which was part of a building site that started at 7am banging about. The room was really dark, and was decorated a dark brown grey colour which made it worse, plus half the lights didn't work. The main source of natural light was from the gap around the door, which when you are on Hollywood Blvd and there are some interesting people outside and a secure front door is essential- which this wasn't. The TV was broken, the plaster was hanging off the wall in parts and the sides were so sticky that everything stuck to them.
The only positive was the brilliant attitude of the staff who were all helpful and understanding- they refunded the rest of the stay without qualm.
