Great Location

Pros: Location.
Cons: Details in the room: moldings, patches, paint.
Location: Big grocery store right across the street. Hollywood and Vine 1/2 mile away. Easy access to 101.
The Dixie was a better-than-adequate place for me to stay and explore Hollywood and the Griffith Park area. The location was so convenient, located in the middle of the places I wanted to visit. There are stores and restaurants nearby. The facility itself was not in the most welcoming condition, because it seemed to be undergoing an upgrade. I would be glad to return and visit to see how the current remodel turns out.

You get what you pay for

Staff was friendly, room was semi clean. Sheets not too clean. You can't ask much from a hotel on that price. The toilet didn't work. It's an OK hotel room for a night Max

NOT WORTH IT

1. Poor condition , falling apart. 2. Dirty towels as I come into a "clean room" 3. Construction going on and noisy early am and they book me in that room. 4. Doorknob loose... 5. Only good thing is near train station. 6. Im not Buddhist so I asked for a bible... they dont have that.

Better than I expected!

The room size is larger than I thought it would be and nice to have fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. Hotel staff went out of their way to help with anything needed. The hotel is on a main road so there is traffic noise and people noise frequently but the hotel itself was very good.

Looks are deceiving.

Pros: Nothing. Couldn't wait to leave.
Cons: Everything: service, decor, cleanliness.
Location: Kind of grubby part of town, but close to the Subway, Griffiths Park, the 101.
Room not cleaned thoroughly - food from previous guests still in fridge, sticky walls, stained duvet. Key cards needed replacing 3 times in 2 days. Room not serviced during stay, management said " not my fault". Outside looked not bad, but dim lighting and dark walls and floors did not hide the general shabbiness and grubbiness of the room.

Ok Horel

The location was good, close to shopping. However, the room needs upgrading. The first room assigned to us was difficult to open the door. The door jammed and had to switch rooms. The second room had a section of the ceiling molding ripped off and the bathtub had spot that were rusted and could see the metal. Will not returned to the Dixie to stay.

Smelly rooms. Worse than Motel 6

This hotel had a very strong bleach smell in their rooms. They wipe their floors with some kind of orange-clorox and the smell is overwhelming. The drains in the shower where clogged and the hotel keeps your signature on file as you sign on an electronic box as appose to on paper. This is dangerous as if they later deem erroneously, that some damage was done to the rooms they can bill you anyways and apply your signature from file. I hate this practice and all the reputable chains don't do it. Nothing special in the location. Facility overall is very run down. Avoid.

Perfect location only a 2 min. walk from the Metro and Starbucks. Many great Thai restaurants located in the area.

Tourist dream but good business stay as well

Looks like a one star from the street. Three star with everything else. Breakfast place on site was good. Lots of places to eat in walking distance. Room was typical family friendly size. Staff was great in three interactions. One mile walk to walk of fame and Hollywood attractions. Or one metro stop. Metro is 100 yards from office. Noisy on two nights so request room not facing street.
