Bedbug warning!

Posted 02-Sep-2015
Yes. I came home with un-invited friends. I loved staying in the very well renovated room until i found out bedbug bites on my leg. I brought my own pillow to the hotel because i can't sleep without memory foam pillow. After came back home, i threw it onto my bed, fell asleep with my leg on it, and found bedbug bites on my leg. My home had never had any insect problem before and last time I slept other than my home was 2 yeara ago. I threw away the pillow and running washer and drier for any suspicious clothes and linens, and i hope this works.

Posted 28-Aug-2015

Great location...but still under construction.

Posted 25-Aug-2015
Pros: Location, room cleanliness, comfortable beds, courteous staff.
Cons: The bedsheets were incredibly stiff. They actually made noise every time we turned over or moved. Maybe because they were new?
Location: L.A. Live a few blocks away. Peking Tavern Asian food, drinks. Louise Brassier breakfast. Barrel Down beer, people watching. Dancing nearby.
The renovations to the hotel lobby are beautiful. The location is excellent to the surrounding downtown area. Check-in was a breeze. Our room was fully remodeled and immaculate. I am a stickler for hotel cleanliness and our room was a 10. Elevators were a problem with the ongoing construction, oftentimes causing us to wait in a line for use, but not as bad as we anticipated (5 minute waits). Parking at the hotel was an issue since there is only valet available and the driveway for drop off does not accommodate many cars. We had to circle the block so we were not blocking traffic with our vehicle while waiting. Other than the parking and slight waits for the elevator, our stay was great. Would love to return when construction is complete and explore more of downtown. Lots of great eateries like the Peking Tavern for dinner & drinks, and Louis Brasserie for breakfast. Would stay here again for sure.

Great hotel, just had to deal with construction.

Posted 04-Aug-2015
Hotel was great except they are renovating, so half of their elevators weren't working. Should be fine after construction.

Beautifully renovated

Posted 28-Jul-2015
I arrived 3 days after the lobby renovations finished - the new lobby is gorgeous. The rooms also look recently renovated and the whole package is great! Only two elevators running but the front lobby made sure to inform me of possible times of high traffic, which was really appreciated!

Great room, but terrible staff.

Posted 20-Jul-2015
Elevators were not working and the staff was terrible. The valet guys took 30 minutes to get my car. The room was nice, but the staff was just horrible

Major construction/renovation

Posted 20-Jul-2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: Discount the rate because of major construction or give credit for future stays.
Location: Within walking distance to entertainment and shopping.
The hotel was under major construction. Only 50% of the elevators were working. Wait time on the evelvators during a rush was 15 minutes more or less.

Underconstuction

Posted 06-Jul-2015
The room was nice but,. they didn't say the hotel was under construction, only 2 elevators worked, which made everything more crowded then it already was.waited at least 10 minutes for the elevator every time...the staff was friendly except one of the valet guys wit a tattoo on his neck pulled my car around and had my music blasting. VERY disrespectful and unprofessional.

Major Renovations

Posted 30-Jun-2015
Pros: We were upgraded to a newly renovated room which was nicely appointed with new furnishings.
Location: The location is convenient to both dining and shopping and walkable to both Staples Center and Disney Hall.
When we booked we were unaware that the hotel is currently (June 2015) undergoing major renovations. The lobby was completely closed with a temporary makeshift check-in desk on the second floor. The restaurant and dining options were curtailed to a bare minimum. In fact the entire block around the hotel was covered by scaffolding, with a major construction in progress on the west side of the building opposite the even numbered rooms.
