Will never return

We pulled up in the evening to find many tents surrounding the hotel, with homeless people. They required me to give them my minor children's passports upon check in- which I have never experienced upon staying at any other facility. They have an additional charge for parking every night, that said initially that it was included in the price. Upon entering our room we heard gunshots and it was quite noisy. The pool is very outdated, and not appealing to swim in. The second night we were there, we were approached by prostitutes, and witnessed a drug deal gone bad with more gunfire. At that point, I decided to pack up her things and leave, and find accommodations elsewhere. I contacted the hotel, but because I book this through Expedia, I cannot get a refund. Very disappointed in my stay. Will avoid this hotel at all costs. Not at all what they advertise to be.

Not bad for short stay

The A/C doesn't work. It goes off when you leave the room and leaves the room stiflingly hot when you return. The hotel is quite old and has been facelifted a few times with inconsistent design themes. For a budget hotel, it's ok. The bed and pillows were good quality and comfortable.

Pros: Excellent Hotel, I like very much.
Location: very close to Hollywood and sunset blvd. very convenient .
We enjoyed staying here very much! Hope to be there next visit. Thank you very much Hollywood Hotel!

Nice decor, Hollywood style.

Pros: The building.
Cons: Train staff on how to deal with people with disabilities and service animals.
I am a handicap person with a service dog, which is not a pet. The reception desk questioned my need for the dog; I found this very discriminating and abusive, and shows total disregard for the law. My service dog has been trained to calm me during an anxiety attack, but according to the desk reception person, "that is not a service dog". Then he asked me "for medical documentation or ID card, which is a clear violation of the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division's ADA requirements, which state: "Staff cannot ask about the person’s disability, require medical documentation, require a special identification card or training documentation for the dog, or ask that the dog demonstrate its ability to perform the work or task".

Disappointed

Pros: Near Silver Lake.
Hotel is two stars below a Holiday Inn but priced like two stars above. No carpeting in the rooms, sheet had a stain on it and free breakfast was pretty bad. Hallways and restaurant were not clean.

Good home base for a LA stay

Pros: Great location. Not much for having a walk around but as a lauching pad, that was perfect. Great pools for fun at the end of the day.
Cons: Breakfast was nice but staff's attitude a bit uneven. Also, given the choice, ask for a room facing the back of the hotel as they are more quiet.
Location: Universal Studios, MGM studios tour, Hollywood walk of fame
Stayed 4 nights with our 2 girls (8-10). For us, location was key as we wanted to spend time at Universal and the whole Hollywood section of the city. We weren't disapointed at all by our choice. Using Metro or our car, everything we wanted to visit was virtually 'right there'. We also had very positive interactions with the staff. Made a nice positive impact.

Great hotel and breakfast, clean and large rooms, beautiful courtyard, extremely friendly staff, amenities are well maintained and there is a convenience store on sight.

Great location, smelt like weed in the corridors.

Pros: The pool was great, as was the location. Airconditioning was modern & housekeeping was very efficient Liked the power outlets on the lamp
Cons: Don't feel that I got value for money
Checkin with Brian seemed to take quite a long time and wasn't the warmest experience. Very robotic. After our arrival we requested two wine glasses, a plate and butter knife as we had purchased some cheese and wine. It baffles me that paying well over $750 AUD for a room + parking for THREE DAYS only that a hotel wasn't able to provide us with any of the above. Drinking wine from a paper starbucks cup is not ideal. Brian said that we could wait the four hours until 7pm where we could go to the ballroom and get some glasses. Very frustrating and complacent attitude wasn't necessary. We felt like idiots for asking for such basic things to be fobbed off. When I worked in a hotel I would go above and beyond to ensure my guests are comfortable. Wasn't a fan of the pole in the middle of the room. We had lots of luggage so there wasn't much floorspace. The breakfast was fabulous as was the chef. He was very friendly and had such a great attention to detail.

In renovation

Neighborhood was a little sketchy, but I liked close proximity to Metro stop. Room was nice, but bathroom needs renovation. other parts of building currently under renovation. Facility and amenities very good for the price I paid.

a Sad Motel in the Hood

This hotel is on a busy street near the Fwy. Don't get a room on that side if you have to stay there. Hopefully you would read this and never set foot there. This is a no thrill hotel. If you called it a Motel you'd know in the US what that meant. Staff isn't helpful and border line nasty and that's the worse part, as it could be an ok Motel. My service dog was not recognized, they gave me a hard time and asked me every question which is illegal to ask Inn california, I would gladly sue them if I had the time. They charged me for mybservice dog, illegal. They pretended it was a cleaning fee. My dog is cleaner than the nasty manager during the day, that's for sure. I decided to cancel the other 2 nights. What a difference with the JW Marriott the night before. OMG. There is a real nasty "manager" during the day, she printed a page from the internet to prove her case, which authorize her to charge me that cleaning fee which was promised to be triumvirates by the night manager. A bunch of liars. That's the level of some of the people working there. There was however when I checked in but he didn't take care of checking me in, a man "Michael" who said I would get reimbursed as he heard the manager say that to me and he seemed kind and liked my dog. Human. But again in the morning when I showed them all the paperwork they asked 4, nasty lady broke the manager's promise. So why have me go get my paperwork for? Anyway. Stay away. If you want an experience in a dump, be my guest.
