Good location and breakfast.
There are a lot of reviews stating that the location of this hotel is questionable. It is not bad at all. There were a lot of people walking around and, I would not have been scared to walk around myself. The breakfast is good. There is an egg and waffle station, an assortment of fruit, cereal and drinks, and more. The balcony overlooking the courtyard was very cute. At night they had lights hanging over and reminded me of a cute little Italian place. The staff was fine and helpful when we asked questions. This is the good.
Now the bad. The bed was the most uncomfortable thing I ever slept on. My whole body hurt so bad that it made me feel like I was going to throw up. I didn't mind that the tub is about 2.5-3 feet to climb into. I did mind that there was black mold in the shower corners and around the bathroom itself. The tub didn't look like it was cleaned for a good while. There was hair all over the place and especially the tub. I wore my flip flops every time I showered. The hotel needs some updating, but I don't really mind a hotel that has a bit of age. I understand, it is expensive.
At first I didn't think the room was that bad, until I slept on the bed and was sore the whole next day. Then I started to notice all the other things like the mold, hair, and chunks out of the walls. If you don't mind any of these things, they by all means stay. If I were to stay in LA again, I would probably look elsewhere.
